all i have to say is WOW
this car is great in the snow
and i must say, this was the first time i drove a RWD car in the snow and its alot better then the FWD ive driven in the past, so much more control then FWD
the VDC wont let your rear slide out, and if you get stuck in the snow just turn it off and you'll be able to get out right away, and this was on the stock Turanzas
the past FWD ive driven in the snow are, the G has them topped
95 acura integra gsr
95 nissan maxima
93 pontiac transsport minivan
88 olds delta 88

I drove in the same crap yesterday, I don't know how you managed. But if you think the summer tires are good you should try winter tires, 100x better!Originally Posted by LuXXXz

I agree about the handling. Before the G I has various FWD cars that did OK in the snow, but, before that I had RWD with NO VDC, talk about scary.

What I really didn't like about FWD in the snow was lack of communication.
You could be in the middle of a corner & bam.... damn thing would dive straight ahead.
With RWD the **** talks to you when you push it too much.

Don't drink and Mag Race

So, how were those Turanza's yesterday? Mad snow storm in Chicago! Even airplanes need snow tires

It was really rough. I've got a 6-speed and it was interesting. I'm on Pilot A/S tires and I was sliding a lot until I dumped some salt in the trunk. Still though, EVERYONE was sliding around. FWD cars were all over the place too. An Accord danced in front of me for awhile. The bonus was that each little skid (even with the VDC on) was kind of fun to pull yourself out of.
We really just had too much snow to deal with and it was extremely slick. The roads were covered with sloppy mess. The only cars I saw doing very well were AWD.

we didnt get as much here in STL as Chi-town, but I did like doing some drifting and donuts with the X for the first time here. Too bad the wife gets it all the time
My daily driver is a 98 altima which is great in the snow - no power and FWD = good snow car. My GTO gets stored all winter, so I am stuck with the altima most days now. I am probably ordering an 06 V70R soon though, so that will be a sweet ride in the snow also.

Same storm hit Indy. In my 6mt, on the stock Potanzas, I would say was the worse time I ever had. I got stuck on every incline. It was sad. I got home and put some wheels and tires that I had saved from my traded in Accord. 17 Inchers with Yoko Avid 4 (I think that is what they are). They did better but not that great. Really considering some Dunlaps now.

VDC saved my **** yesterday. We had an extremely cold night here in Virginia and there were patches of black ice, even on the major roads. Some jackass in a truck was a bit close so I gave the car some gas just as I hit a patch. The back end danced a bit so I let off the gas and it straightened out. A mile down the road there was a mustang that had just slid into a ditch.
