Are you guys sure that's under warranty and not a "wear" item? I just scheduled an appointment w/ infiniti and they claim it's a "wear" item. I'll have to dig up my warranty booklet from the owner's manual but if you guys know, let me know.

If that belt is a serpentine belt just buy a new one. Belt dressing is the last thing you want on a serpentine belt. Belt squealing is usually caused by improper tension.

I took my car in the other day for an oil change, and to check on why my third brake light wasn't working, and for them to check my belts as well.

The belts have been squeaking like hell in the mornings and it was starting to get a little annoying. Anyway, on the print out sheet they stated that the belts showed no signs of cracking and they supposedly weren't able to duplicate the noise. They did mention that they noticed some glazing (whatever that means, I usually just think of donuts when I hear the word glazing) but if the problem persists they would replace them under warranty.

I have about 50K miles on my '03, I'm not sure how many you have on yours.

The one thing I noticed was that on the summary sheet, for the third brake light, which they stated was a faulty relay or something like that, it listed "manufacturer" or "factory" or something to that effect.

Next to the belt issue it had "dealer" next to it. I'm assuming that the third brake light would be paid for by Nissan, while the squeaky belts would be paid for by them, the dealer.

Now I'm not sure if I'm right, but thats why I suspect they held off on fixing it. Like it was money out of their pocket and not Nissan. When I get home I'll try to scan the sheet so you guys can see.

Also, they did some new recall on my car:

This was regarding a potentially faulty fuel hose filler on certain 2003-2004 G35's

Next to this issue was also the word "Factory" or "Manufacturer" and not "Dealer".
