Y Pipe Question

Is the Coupe Y Pipe the same as the Sedan Y Pipe? Is there a difference in air flow? Thx

So there is no benefit to getting a coupe pipe right? Need to go aftermarket?

The improvement would be in the Y-pipe, the coupe midpipe doesn't improve power output, but it's louder (some like that) and 40 lbs or so lighter (that's always good).

Two different things....y-pipe & coupe mid-pipe....just wanted to confirm that you knew that. Judging by your join date on the forum.....do you have an '05? If so, I've heard there's no benefit for upgrading to a coupe mid-pipe...since the '05 sedan midpipe is smaller & lighter than the '03's & '04's..... Let us know what year you have....adding this info. to your signature will help others in future (just a suggestion).

I have an 03 sedan with a coupe midpipe already. What i wanted to knwo was about the coupe Y PIPE. Is there a difference from an 04 coupe Y PIPE and a 03 sedan Y PIPE? Basically, should i get it from a buddy or is it a waste of time b/c they are one in the same. thanks

Ahhh....very understandable! Yeah...like 03silver said...they're the same. Now if there were a way for you to use his rear exhaust section....that would be a different story.... .

I have the sp2. Do the y pipes replace the cats. or do they go behind the cats.

The Y-pipe is the Y-pipe & the cats the cats....if you get along side your car & look underneath just behind the front wheels/axle & you'll the the "Y". The order is: header, cats, y-pipe, midpipe, muffler..........
