AWD: What have you heard?

It looks like I'll be joining this exclusive and proud group of G35 owners in December when the AWD G35 sedans are available. But I'm rather worried that the AWD option may put the car's price out of my reach. So I'd like to start this thread so anyone who has some info on the AWD can educate me as to options, colors, availability, magazine reviews, and above all, PRICING on the new AWD. This is what I know so far which I learned from a Milwaukee, WI dealership:

• AWD, yes. But it's silmilar to the FX 45/65 set up where only 30% of the power goes to the front wheels when they slip and only up to 15 mph. Is that enough to get me through 6" of fresh Wisconsin snow?

• new color for sedan: diamond graphite

• Packages available on AWD version:
base (nothing added)
Bose stereo
Bose and sunroof
Navigation and premium package (w/full size spare)
Navigation and premium package (full size spare) and wood
premium package (full size spare)
premium package (full size spare) wood
sunroof
various dealer added accessories

Seems most folks are familiar with the 2004 pricing on these options, so I won't go there.

So, if you have some info to add about the AWD version, or if I screwed something up, please post it...especially if it pricing for the AWD option!

THANKS!

Oops, forgot one thing. The Milwaukee dealership said they'd take orders starting October 3, and the cars would be delivered late December.

Re: AWD: What have you heard?

Infiniti just told dealers the AWD intro date will be two weeks earlier than originally annouced (12/13/03 was the orig. date). Dealer orders probably going in first week of September. Look at posts on freshalloy.com.

i dont' think the price should put it out of reach. i had been looking at a bmw and they charged (msrp) of 1300 or so for AWD. so, assume something comparable.

Re: AWD: What have you heard?

I love the idea of an AWD G35. This is the first I have heard of it coming to the U.S. Are there other sites reporting this? I'd like to find out all I can about it.

Re: AWD: What have you heard?

RAC156 - there have been detailed discussions about AWD in general and the system that will be on the G35 on both this site and freshalloy.com. Do a search on "awd" on the G35 sedan forums. The sedan is getting the Attessa system that's current on the FX35/45.
