Easy, the guy made cheap cars for 2 years that were the lowest quality Nissans ever mad. The shift boot on my Nissan Altima fell apart 5 times in less than 3 years. The temperature control broke and this was just not on my car,it was on so many altimas that the part was on back order for 3 months. Believe me, I have plenty of reasons to dislike that pos.

He turned Nissan/Infiniti around with exciting new cars/suv's, BUT it would seem that because Nissan was in a hole financialy at the time, he cut some corners doing it. I think that above anything else is why Nissan is so far down on that list.

Remember, overall rankings don't necessarily relate to any specific vehicle, and vice versa.

The only issues I've had have tended to go away on their own, like a rattle from the back that I think was the seat belt, or a touchy tire monitor sensor that doesn't like real cold weather.

But, after only 2 1/2 years, I would hope I wouldn't have any issues yet.

Yeah, go figure. If the car was actually made in the United States of America, I would not have bought it. I believe my car was made in Japan, or at least that is what it says in the door sill. Anyhow, I have 100k warranty with loaner. With my Altima I did not have that option. So at least now I get a car when mine breaks, and its broken a few times, so just to make myself feel better, I abuse the loaner car, hit curbs, charge speed bumps and drive it like gas is free.

The G Coupe is made in Nissan's best factory, Tochigi, in Japan. BIG difference! My G Coupe has been faultless- now at 17,000 miles. I won't buy a vehicle unless it has a MADE IN JAPAN sticker.
Absophuckinlutely! My 03.5 sedan has been flawless and solid. Still have the factory test drive certification signed by M. Sakaguchi. $30000, RWD, and "Made in Japan" is the main reason I bought the G. Mississippi? You must be joking? I wouldnt be surprised if they close that plant if things so "South" again. Damage to the global corporate image is too hard to shake.

Well, did anyone notice, they gave a high mark to the M? So why is that bringing the entire Infiniti nameplate down?

The M is the media darling of the Infiniti family.. the QX is the one wrecking up the place.

It's always been a fact that the "disenchanted" are more prone to complain, while the "satisfied" mostly say nothing (because we're SUPPOSED to be satisfied and it's only noteworthy if we're not). EVERY magazine that has done a "long term" test follow-up has had basically NO complaints except, the oft repeated, interior material quality issue. The '56 is the anchor...not the 'G, so keep sailing 'skipper'. jbx
