rocking chairs fixed?

I know there were issues with the seats in the sedans rocking... and that there is a TSB and fix for it.

My question is this: Is the fix effective? Does it really stop the seat rocking?

And, do the '04s already have the fix installed?

I'm curious, because I've narrowed my car choices down to the 325i and 330i (after looking at the IS300 and RX8), but I've got to give the G35 a shot due to the price/performance ratio.

But I also have a car with a rocking seat now (Contour) and I DO NOT want a repeat of that problem when *upgrading* my car. That one problem absolutely drives me nuts, so hearing that the G35 suffered from it *almost* scuttled it from my list.

But not yet.

Its been a problem in some cars , but dont just go by whats on the forum, there a tons of ppl who dont complain about it. Also if there was a TSB, i presume they would fix on the 04. go ahead test one , you wont think twice

Not everyone has a rocking chair for a seat. As a matter of fact I have not taken my "G" in for any of the TSBs.

Re: rocking chairs fixed?

racerdave, I had the rocking chair problem. The dealer replaced the parts and it hasn't rocked since. I believe Nissan has addressed the issue and has canceled the rocking chair feature in the new Gs.

Get the G, you will not be disappointed. The only problems I have had with my 03 G is the rocking seat (front and back) and the clock being hard to read. All issues have been taken care of without any lip from the dealership.

I must say that I have never thought a first year car would be so well built as to have very little problems. The newer ones must be perfect!

Does BMW give a loaner out when your car is in service? I don't think it is their policy. This perk is a god send! A wash after every service always nice too.

You really can't beat the price, power and amenities that the G35 has to offer. To me the choice is simple.

Good luck on your decision.

I have a 2003.5 and it never rocked, but it sure does roll. Get a better car and put the extra 8K away for the next one.

G35/S/MT....this car rocks!

You mean the seat rolls? I don't get it...

So you seriously don't like the car?

racerdave-- I think he means it "rolls" as in, it goes like a bat out of hell, and save 8K by buying this car. That way, you'll have another 8K towards it when you buy your next one.

Just my interpretation-- judging by the "this car rocks!" in the sig

Re: rocking chairs fixed?

How recently were the fixes performed? What did they do to the seat? A few months ago a "lift kit" was installed, but the seat shifting did not go away. I am curious how recent the fix is. My G is currently at the dealer as I write this...
