Does anyone else have trouble with their left foot fitting fully behind the clutch pedal assembly when resting it on the dead pedal? I'm tempted to remove the dead pedal but I don't want the holes. Has anybody found a solution to this?

I have a similar problem, though apparently not so bad. I buy New Balance tennis shoes. they usually fit my feet in a size smaller than normal. Sandals are also good to drive in (the thinner the sole the better for tactile feel)
experiment with shoes and driving barefoot. That is the best, except they don' let you race like that.

No, but it is a sports car. thus nimble feet are better. I have learned to do well myself and I wear 12's.
If you are coordinated enough to drive a stick you will be fine.

My problem is not in width (there's plent of room) but rather its in height. I have a size 13 foot and with shoes on my foot rubs (or doesn't fit at all) between the clutch pedal mechanism (not the pedal itself). I'd love to see a much thinner dead pedal.
This played a big part in my choice of a 5AT, believe it or not. When I went and drove the car the first time, I had some size 14 NB tennis shoes on, and it was an okay fit. I'm used to getting my foot trapped down there, so I was happy that didn't happen. I then went and test-drove it with dress shoes on and... wooooah. No way... I figured since this would be a car for my professional side, and I've got the stang GT to just tear around corners in, I'd get a 5AT. It was a heartbreaking decision, because I'd waited so long for the 6MT, but it had to be made... Well I wear a size 15-16 but my feet are pretty skinny for their size. When I went and drove a 6mt I had no problem at all driving it but I also use the heel toe method so that may contribute a little to that. I think that if I would've waited for the 6mt to come out rather than getting the one I have I would've been fine. The car I had before this was a 96 maxima 5-spd and never had any problems with the size of my feet.

Sorry- neglected to mention; my feet are a little bit wider than normal. My ski boots and rollerblades had to be custom-made for me. My mom once asked how we'd find our way back from a restaurant in a mountain town, and my dad replied "Just follow the Sasquatch tracks". Thanks, dad.
Regardless, it makes it a little tricky to do, well, just about anything when it comes to the maneuverings of an MT. I think this is why I like the Mustang so much-- VERY roomy down there (comparably), and the clutch is so shallow you could sneeze on it to get the sweet spot.

Wow, maybe some one can make you a custom pedal set. My 12 1/2's fit fine, but my feet are the skinny kind. Genetics, I guess. I do find that I drive a lot better in pair of snug running shoes rather than the sandals or dress shoes. Best of luck!

I think it's the 6'3", 14 combo that makes the coupe an impossibility for me. If I were to put the seat back/low enough to actually have room to maneuver with the pedals, I'd be in the trunk.
My mother always said "of course he had to get my feet and your nose" to my dad. Not cosmetically-- My dad has a deviated septum, and I've got the same. Oh, and allergies. I think God just hates me, that's why I'm now living in Indiana.
Does anyone here have a set of shoes just for driving? I used to use tennis shoes to drive a standard, then switch shoes when I got to work/dinner/movie, etc.

My 6MT is in for service and my loander in an auto. I noticed that the dead pedal for the automatic is less deep but wider (I like it better). Has anyone repaced a 6MT dead pedal with an auto dead pedal?
