How could a fuel hose repair lead to an engine failure, I'm not making any sense out of that.

Well my Service consultant told me it's going to be a brand new engine, but I don't believe him. I'm sure it's going to be a refurbished one.

Maybe it is just one big coicidence that a few hours after picking up my car up from the dealer my engine blows.

becasue most "mechanics" at the stealership don't have a ****ing clue what they're doing.

I asked one a while ago if they were able to reflash the ecu/ecm to adjust my air-fuel ratio. Their response - 'what's an air fuel ratio'. I then asked if they could bump my timing my 1 or 2 degrees since the obii (or whatever it's called) can do that - their response 'Cars have timing? Huh? You mean you want us to move your clock ahead by 1 or 2 seconds?'

What does your odometer read--total miles, or just new miles....how do you explain that if you sell it?

Should I check my oil level twice a month to check for oil-consumption?

thanks.
They never told me what the cause of the oil consumption was. The odometer was not changed. When I sell the car I will let the buyer know the engine was replaced at 30k miles. It never hurts to check your oil level.

When I was keeping track I counted nine inclluding my own. I have since stopped counting, but have not run into many more stories.

Like I said before, I believe it to be a very small percentage and I agree that the VQ engine is reliable, despite my experience.

After 8 months of going back and forth with the dealer and Infiniti Im finally getting a new one also. Got a call today to schedule an appointment.

I dont know why they make it so hard on people. BMW had an issue with the full floating cylinder liners and light pressure oil rings way back and they just replaced your engine........no hassle.

I didn't mean that, I just wondered what they could have done to cause this failure.
