My suggestion would be to use the next higher octane (93) if the recommended 91 isn't available in your area.
Your performance and gas mileage will be enhanced by using premium, and the engine will run cooler and cleaner.
In case anyone is wondering, the new Sedan engines have a bumped compression ratio now (10.6:1) which makes it even more imperative to use high octane.

I take it as a compliment from Infiniti. Every time I pull up to the pump it's just give's me pleasure knowing that this big phat chevy sitting next to me is getting some cheap *** fuel and I'm getting some high dolla ****. Makes me scream inside "I'M REEEEECH BIAAAAAAAAATCH". Once I pulled up to Costco Fuel and the guy that worked there runs up to me asking if I'm getting 92. I'm like "HELL YEAH". He needed to time the pump for that fuel and was looking for someone to pump it all day and I was the only one.
So Fck all them cheap bastards that trying to make OUR G look cheap and put 87 in it.
I'M REEEEEEEEEEEEECH BIAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTCH!

The bottomline is, use premium fuel; there is no reason not to. You will get better performance and better MPG so price wise it's possible you will be SAVING money by putting in premium.
Lower octane fuel is actually BETTER for your engine because it burns cleaner. Engine ECU's today retard timing so that there is no knock or pings from lower octane fuel; so you do not have to worry about it being bad for your engine...in fact it will burn cleaner and need less gasoline detergent. (Premium fuels are loaded with detergent)

But to say you will get better mpg as a result is absolutely, positively, dead wrong. The higher the AKI, the more the fuel can resist predetonation. Period. That's it.

Exactly, and resistance to predetonation allows for increased timing which causes better MPG. Thank you, come again.
What beer do you people put in your mouth? I bet the regular gas guys are drinking Bud Light or Busch.
Who spends a little more on beer that actually tastes like beer?
This all is too funny. For the pennies that are being discussed, that add up to dollars... what is being spent on cigarettes, beer, junk food, loose change that ends up in a jar, food that spoils in the fridge, movie rental late charges??? And the list of worthless crap goes on...
Buy the good gas.
