update. For the time being, all ships coming from Japan are being automatically diverted to Los Angeles. If your G is already at the dock in Vancouver, it will be sent to Los Angelese as well, however I haven't heard when that will happen. My saleman confirmed via VIN # that mine is currently at sea headed for LA. That is a good thing at least since it will not have to wait at the Vancouver port. What a real PITA.

At least they've gone to plan 'B'
I know it doesn't help much Shane, but you still might be close to your Nov 15 forcast.

yes be thankful guys. We called about ours... and it was unloaded before the " STRIKE " and it is in a Compound of some sorts. So we have to wait for the " STRIKE " to end, before it will be shipped on rail to here. Provided there is a Strike at all. I too could not find any info on a strike of any kind going on in Vancouver or area.

There's info on an old strike in '05...
Do the local papers have sooooo much news that a port stike doesn't cut it?
It's not as if there's no impact on the city... I don't get it.

Hyatt Infiniti: "My manager has left for the evening but the search that I am able to do told me that your vehicle has been at port since October 7th and I am assuming this means Vancouver port. My search doesn't tell me which port but it was the ship that arrived later in October and the next one coming that are being diverted to LA. Even though they were at port early Infiniti did not want to release them too soon before the official launch and I think got caught off guard like everyone else by the closedown"
It kinda sounds like I am getting shafted!
My car got to the port earlier than the ones that are being diverted so I will just have to wait out the labour dispute, if there is a labour dispute. I am going to call the Fraser River Port Authority at the automotive port tomorrow morning and see if I can find out anything new. For now I guess all I can say is I hope it is resolved quickly.

I was talking to my salesman today and he said the people on the east coast are actually luckier than people on the west coast. The cars will get put on a train in LA for Detroit and then into Canada. There isn't a train going north, apparently they have to be trucked.
I just spoke to Mike at the Fraser River Port Auto Terminal, and he tells me that there is indeed a strike at the port. The strike is now on it's 13th day and both parties will be meeting this week to attempt to come to a resolution. Unfortunately he says that he can't provide me any detailed updates, but at this time there is no end in sight. The port has not made any public announcements, which explains why we have been unsuccessful in finding any news so far. On the plus side he tells me that there are as many as 65 cars a day that continue to leave the terminal through dealer pick up and that my dealer should be able to arrange this process no problem. I shouldn't have to wait for the labour dispute to be resolved!!
He also confirmed that the ships that arrived at port later on in October and after have been diverted to LA. (mine landed at the port October 7th so it is most likely still there).
