I have the 07 Sedan and it *needs* a more aggressive exhaust. Why did Infiniti give the car a quieter exhaust? Everyone I know likes the sound, I was hoping for a better sound with the dual exhaust, but instead it's just quieter (and maybe more restricted?).

Simple, laws. They like everyone else needs to meet sound quality and I hate to say it, it is a sedan so the market is for young and old.

And that is why there is an aftermarket of parts.

How do you guys feel about doing the upgrade (when it's available) on a leased car? This is my first lease...I don't think it's worth doing it

Yeah I totally agree...the sound is so amazing when it's roaring but it's definitely too quiet city-driving. It sucks that I'ma have to shell out $1k for what my friend driving an '03 coupe already has.

Wouldn't that be like upgrading the kitchen in an apartment that you rent? Not sure why someone would upgrade a leased car, it's not your car, you have to turn it in. Modifying it could even lead to fees I believe.

The 07's note is similar in tone to the coupe's but it's more suddle and not as loud. But nevertheless, it doesn't go unnoticed.

As these cars prices increase slowly, they are more in the luxury market and you have to satsify both sport and luxury car buyers, there has to be some middle ground. I find the exhaust to be a bit on the loud side, then again I am coming from an Acura TSX that was super quiet inside. The days of me wanting a hyper loud exhaust to turn everyone's head are long gone, at least on my daily driver.
