how much does gas mileage improve after the initial break in period? I at 600 miles and seeing about 21 MPG max on the freeway.

yeah i have been seeing alot of gas mileage in the teens

I hope some more people chime in as I'm curious to know this before I get close to dropping money on a down payment.

After almost 1100 KMs of driving (both highway & city) I have averaged about 23 MPG. I have been keeping my speeds/RPMs unconsistent during break in so it is not the most fuel efficient. Overall, considering a brand new engine and the type of driving I have been doing, I am pleased thus far.

My car is using about 14.4L/100km (16.33 miles/gallon) with mostly city driving. Shane are you really only using 10.23 L/100km? When you say both highway & city what's the mix? 99.95% highway and 0.05% city? I wish I was getting some where close to that. My neon used 9-10 L/100km!!

I am lucky to average 20MPG on a tank and 80% of my driving is highway. A little light at the end of the tunnel, with 1300 miles on the car this tank of gas seems to be doing MUCH better, based on the instant economy it looks like I am going to jump to 23-24MPG, though time will tell... at 23-24 I am happy, at 20 or less I am not so happy. Something also to consider in colder climates the gas changes this time of year and its common to see fuel economy drop a bit, just something to think about.

Good news Christian, if you are getting 14.4L/100km, that is actually 19.6 MPG. Don't forget that we are on the imperial gallon and not a US gallon. Excellent point. The winter fuel mix we use in the USA sucks. IME, about a 3-4 MPG drop in the winter due to fuel in more than a few cars that I've owned.

My average so far has been about 14 in exclusively city driving (worst kind - lots of stop signs and slow traffic), but even throwing in some hwy it's still around 18.

Now granted, I don't usually shift to 5th at less than 50, and have been...enjoying the engine. The mileage is actually worse than my Max, which was pretty bad. But then, I didn't buy this car for the mileage

Wouldn't the US members be speaking about their fuel economy in miles per US Gallon? If I want to compare my fuel economy to theirs, which gallon should I be thinking about?

I'm still up in the air on this one. I was getting about 14mpg mostly when driving around town. The best I've gotten is 21 pure highway driving. After the dealer reset my computer the last tank was 19mpg but that was a mixture of town and highway driving with maybe 60% - 70% highway. I just filled up and so far I'm doing about 13 mpg mostly city driving. I have about 1500 miles on the car.

I still believe this car su**s around town and is only ok on the highway. I will give it another tank or two before infiniti gets a nasty letter from me. (ok I'll try and be a little nice about it)

It's 19.6 mpg US gallons and 16.3 mpg imperial for Christian . Yours converts to 19.1 US and 23 imperial.

Yes, they're all in US gallons. Most wouldn't be aware of the imperial units or metric either. No offence to our US friends.

My 6MT: I don't drive hard, but I do have those moments when I rev up to or beyond 4000 rpms. My worst so far is about 18.6mpg. My best is almost 20mpg. I have over 1600 mi.
