I just test Drove an 07 G35S With the 6 Spd! Before I ordered my Car, they Only had Auto in Stock, And I was Impressed with that Car Already! Now I wanted to test drive a 6Spd, since i oredered one without a test drive. And Reading some reviews and what others are saying about the 6MT shifter having bad vibrations in the Shifter, and "LOUD" Gear whine from the Trans! Now all I can say is that these Problems are very Minor to me! the Vibrations are very Slight, and can't harldy feel it! You can see it vibrate like at Idle In Neutral, other than that it's Great! Shifts smoothly, and Nice Short Throws! and the Clutch Engagement is a little high, but you get used to it after a while! and I had no problems getting a smooth start, no tricky..Jerky starts for me at least. since i am used to driving a Stick car. And for the gear Whine it's slight, but not loud like straight Cut Gears that I heard other people say on other boards. Guess some are very nitpicky about these Minor things, For me I love them. And if you don't want to hear whine or whatever just turn up the Bose System! LOL. The waiting is Hell..Want my Car Already!

Congrats on your purchase,
good thing you've mentioned about that gear whine, since I thought it was maybe only my car. Somehow I liked it it reminds me one of those racing games in ferrari and it's only in first gear, adds a little fun to my experience.

It's funny how subjective feeling can be so different. I had a chance to test drive a Honda S2000 and after letting go (most of the) clutch, rev up the engine a bit, but the car was just not going anywhere. I then stared at the salesman like what is going on here. But then I realized that I didn't let go of the clutch fully.
I thought the S2000 had a real long clutch take-up but you will not find anything in any review that had issue with this.

Anyway, I feel like people are nit-picking at the G35 and magnifying any percieved weakness. The G35 is clearly an over-achiever so naturally it has to put up with a bunch of nonsense.

Every car has a few weakness. You don't hear how the IS350 understeer, jitter highway ride, or the TL is just a modified Accord with bigger engine, stiffer spring.

Hey Whut Up Perry! Well I put the order in at the end of NOV, and the dealer puts the order in every first week of each Month, So My order went out like on Dec 2nd or 3rd and they say 60-90 days for it to come! But when I test drove the 6Spd car on Fri, he Told me my car may come middle or end of Jan!! Sooner than expected, he said some cars took like 7 weeks and was already here! He said that the factory is pumping out cars, and the Ship Stops here in Hawaii First before going to Mainland! So We may get our cars quicker than anywhere else! I can't wait till Jan comes, So I can get my new RIDE!!

First of all, Merry Christmas all!

Being a lover of manuals, I have yet to go back to the Infiniti dealer to drive the G35 manual again. It's hard to do, but it's nice to drive more than one type of manual back-to-back. I can directly compare the 98 Maxima to the 335i, but I wanted to go back and see where the G35S fit in that range. Would like to throw-in a 4 cyl. Passat as well...

The Maxima requires extremely high pressure and seems to grab at the very end. I hadn't realized that as it was my daily driver and still is for 9 yrs. You could say it's all I knew. Now it's as if my left leg has learned both cars (it's some sort of coordination I guess) and I can switch from one to the other.

A few funny comments on this thread...the TL being a modified Accord (???) and the wife enjoying the new car while the husband works...

Merry Christmas to you too. John, your Maxima has a lot of miles. It's likely the high clutch take up point is as a result of clutch wear.

I agree with you on the funny comments. I prefer to have my wife working F/T while I'm home most of the time.

G/L with the rest of your comparisons. If it were me I would stop doing them once you got your new 335.

Thanks RBull, you may be right that my Maxima has changed and I don't even realize it.

I probably have OCD with the test-driving. Years ago I used to get freebies, so I couldn't resist. Swiss Army watch for the Maxima, Kenneth Cole laptop bag for the Altima, $40 gift card for the Miata, $50 debit card for the Ford Five Hundred. I did the Lexus event, MB twice, and the BMW Susan Komen 3X, one of which luckily landed me into the Ultimate Drive with the pro instructors. I can't stop!! It's like I'm too curious about all the latest cars and their gizmos...I need help! I know what you mean though, if you're not going to buy, why waste all that time talking to salespeople, when most people dread that?

The Acura TL is based on the Accord chassis. In fact they both have the exact wheelbase length, and every other dimensions are within an inch or so. Just want to point out the fact, without any of the subjectivity nonsense.
