What car did you come FROM? Upgrade / Downgrade?

sold a 2000 Lexus GS430 that never gave me an ounce of trouble in 6 years and a 2004 Miata MX5 mazdaspeed that was the most enjoyable car in the twisties. The Lexus has a nicer interior, and slightly better fit and finish. It is NOT a driver's car. Corners like a small boat. The MX5 mazdaspeed corners like it is on rails and is great fun, but somewhat punishing as a daily driver and a waste as a weekend sports car. I only put 3,000 miles on it in two years.
The 2007 G35X is the nicest blend of the two. Accelerates well, corners fine, decent interior even though not plush, nicely sized for occasional back seat passengers, and so far, maintenance free. ( only been 300 miles, so that may be a bit premature). Love the car, but probably not an upgrade, or downgrade, just a different ride.

I come from a evo 8. It is an upgrade, but i regret the purchase. The new g35 is definitely a luxurious car...but i just miss the power of my evo. I had 310whp on my evo 8..nothing great but a very fun car. My new g35 has the best interior out of all the other cars that are priced in the range with it, i think.

came from an '02 Lexus IS300 MT with nav.
I haven't been able to decide if it's an upgrade or lateral move.
Obviously, it's an upgrade in terms of new vehicle, but there are pros and cons to both vehicles that sorta offset each other.
And Lexus service and quality really is second to none, but not worth the 7k extra to get into a similarly equipped IS350

Our G35s was a present for my wife who has been driving her 5.0 Explorer for many years. She was driving our 3000gt VR-4 till i traded it in on my truck. I'm actually driving the Explorer now to save miles on my Truck. So thats an upgrade for her.
My truck is my real baby, 2003 f150 harley, Custom paint and built for speed. Its in the shop getting the built long block put in. I have almost 80k into that truck including msrp. Before the built motor it was putting down 510rwhp / 605 trq and running low 12's. After this stage of modding and 15k later it should be around 650rwhp/750+ trq and running high 10's without spray.
