My old wheels: a '91 BMW M5 (aka the money pit).

The G35x is much smoother, quieter and less visceral. It's quicker despite early days (breaking in) and despite the automatic. I'd say it was a lateral move overall.

Cool

I traded in my 2004 Acura TL for the 2007 G35S.

The TL was a great car, but I had close to 85K miles after 3.5 years. Besides, I was ready for something different.

The TL Type S didn't really move me - not to mention the G35 blows away the Acura in all respects. Actually, there is really nothing else out there that I think can compare to the new G35.

Oddly enough, when I bought the TL, it was toss-up between that and the 2004 G35. At the time, although the G had RWD and more torque, I was not impressed with the interior. Also, the Acura had a lot more technology than the G at that time. Now I think the opposite is true, except for the ELS Surround System in the TL.

starting from the most recent. I can't complain I've had some pretty cool cars for as long as I've been driving. And for the record I've bought these cars..not mommy or daddy.

2004 BMW 530i...I guess it's a downgrade, but the reliability and gadgets will make up for it.

When my car gets here (next week hopefully) be switching from a '95 RX7.

Definite upgrade in luxury and technology. Jury's out on fun factor and performance. Definite downgrade in handling.

2002 Audi A4 3.0 quattro

Supposedly I was downgrading, but the second I got in the car I realized I was upgrading. This car is better then my A4 in every respect and the sticker price was a few grand less!

Some pics of my A4 ------> CLICK HERE

I'm also coming from a BMW. A 2006 750i...as expected, took a big whack on depreciation, but I had my reasons. The G35 is an awesome package and I'm hoping that the service here is as good as I've heard.

My last car was a 2001 BMW 740i. The only thing I miss are the rain sensing wipers, and I love the G, so I guess that's an upgrade. (BTW - I won't miss the maintenance cost!)

Wow....that's a huge difference. Just curious why you're selling.

I can't even image how much it depreciated

2005 AMG C55. Kind of miss it. Until I get in the G and have all the music options available for my daily commute. I also don't miss the maint cost and having to bring it to the stealership for a friggin oil change!

Mine was more of a lateral move from a 2002 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro

To an '05 IP Coupe

I LOVED the V10 diesel, and I have to say it's probably the only VW I'd drive day-to-day. But it's just a waste of tech IMO. The offroad capabilities will hardly even be used, it's really heavy, and has a tendancy of having things(trim pieces & cupholders) break or crack.
While you might be right in most cases, I have been on some trips in my friends Touareg and the off-road capabilites have been put to good use!

And in street mode!

Haven't upgraded yet but I will very soon. I'm getting a G 35S, 5at, Premium.

Went from a 1999 Impreza 2.5 RS to a 2002 WRX Wagon to a 1997 Ford Escort (had to sell the WRX to pay for law school) to my wife's old 2000 Outback Limited. I'm going to miss my Subarus. Those things have to be the most reliable cars in the world.

My only previous expirience with a Nissan product was my wife's 2005 Maxima SE. Had for a year and a half didin't have any problems. She now has a 2007 RDX and its been in service 4 times in 4 months

'05 G35 Sedan w/Sport/Premium/Nav to '07 G35S Premium/Nav/Tech. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the call from the dealer. I am hoping to have it today or by tomorrow at the latest. Can't sleep through the night because I am so excited.
