What car did you come FROM? Upgrade / Downgrade?
Going from a 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK430 to a 2007 G35x w/ nav, tech, and premium...my Benz was beat up (3 warped wheels, worn tires, rusting rear quarter panel, dash acting up, shaking during idle, reverse gear noise, etc.), so I guess it's an upgrade even though the CLK cost me about 18 grand more when I bought it new...
04 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited to 06 G35 Coupe. Still have the Grand for daily driver duties. Only got 285 miles on the G, can't wait for the break in period to be over to really see what this car has got. Stayin under 4k rpm is very hard to do.
My Vehicle History
I came to the G from a 1999 F-150 - This is certainly a huge step up even though it is a very different kind of vehicle.
Before the F-150 I had a 2000 Toyota Celica and actually had to enter arbitration and force the dealer to buy it back as a lemon - That was my first experience buying a brand new car, so here's hoping for a much better second time around!
Before the Celica I had a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am and a 1979 Mustang Turbo
As you can see, the G is an entirely new class of car for me...

i just got a G35X -- what a nice car...
i came from a 02 wrx wagon. after the wrx, i couldn't give up having a fast car with awd. the scooby was fun, a little raw and a little wild. the turbo lent an interesting powerband.
my heart melted after test driving the G. i love the torque throughout the rpm range. and the car is so quiet and composed feeling! i really have to pay attention otherwise i end up inadvertantly flying down every road. i thinkg the handling is fine - very responsive but just not as raw feeling which is part of the luxeriousness.
i realized i'm getting older - the concept of a luxery sporting car was more appealing than flat out speed such as a scooby wrx sti.
prior to the 02 wrx wagon, i had a 97 subaru outback sport and an 85 subaru gl wagon. i'm still getting used to only having a trunk...which feels very weird...but all the gadgets are really cool - when i had a passenger at night, i kept turn the steering wheel and go, "look at the lights turning!"

2000 VW Golf -> 2003 G35 coupe. 115hp -> 280hp. So that's what they mean by spirited driving. *grin*.
It was an upgrade on almost everything, except: quality of some interior components (03 G feels too "plastiky"), dashboard colors (can't beat the blue/red combo), awesome heated seats.
