Quote: Yep, she will stop on a dime...so now you gotta get used to looking in your rearview mirror for vehicles that can't.
I drove an '04 STi on a long trip once... now that car has some serious brakes; first time I've ever *really* worried about people behind me being able to stop

To each his own...if you think you are downgrading from a Cobalt then that is your opinion. It seems absurd to me but everyone is different I suppose. I will now be hunting down Cobalts on the streets to witness their mighty performance against my 08 g35XS!

^ Don't waste your premium gas on a Cobalt race. The two cars would hardly be in the same sentence except for here. Too bad he mentioned it was a downgrade thus starting the ridiculous Cobalt V. G35 war.

Quote: WOW....Some dumb punk in a red Cobalt SS SC thought he could hang with my 06 G 6MT.....I pulled about 6 car lengths on him and then toasted him on a curvy backroad....stopped and he caught up....let him pass then caught and past him.....What downgrade....I think your facts screwed up also...

07 G35X specs:
0-45 mph (sec.) 3.7
0-60 mph (sec.) 5.6
0-75 mph (sec.) 8.0
1/4-mile (sec. @ mph) 13.9 @ 102.1
Braking, 30-0 mph (ft.) 28
60-0 mph (ft.) 112
Slalom, 6 x 100 ft. (mph) 67.10
Skid pad, 200-ft. diameter (lateral g) .85
Top Speed (mph) 158 mph
06 Cobalt SS SC Specs:
year: 2006
Layout: Front, Transverse
0-60 time: 6.2 sec.
1/4 mile: 14.4
Curb Weight: 2991 lbs.
Displacement: 121.9 Cc
Torque @ RPM: 200 @ 4400
Top Speed: 145 mph
MPG(Cty): 25
Transmission: 5-Speed Manual
Engine: R4 DOHC Supercharged
Horse Power @ RPM: 205 @ 5600

Now the G35X beats out the cobalt in every catergory. Now lets talk looks on the outside and inside. Lets talk finish. Cobalt is like NEON....a big P.O.S. How can you say a sidestep.
hmm, i was never a fan of the stock X suspension and think its dangerous at highway speed/cornering, hence I got Coils

Quote: i never said every cobalt its a thread about where you came from. my specific situation is my specific situation. and it is a downgrade in performance.
Getting away from anything FWD (the "F" is for "Wrong") is always an upgrade in performance, regardless of power.

I kinda-downgraded from a '03 Daytona Blue 350Z Track Pack to my '06 OB G35 Sedan 6MT... I still miss my Zed.

most of the time thats true but wrong wheel drive doesnt hurt this cars performance as much as youd think. it still handles like a rwd drive car

Give it full-throttle through a slow-medium 90° bend then try to tell me that...

...after you pull yourself out of the weeds/gravel/wall.

A FWD car can be made to handle neutrally, but never well.

Before my G my baby was a silver BMW. I still have it...I am thinking about switching cars in the winter so the G don't have to see snow!

I went from a 2002 Acura TL to a 2007 G35x, I wanted a standard G35 or a G35S, but I could not find one in my area in the time that I had.
