As of this weekend (hopefully) I will be upgrading/downgrading to a 2007 G35x...
I'm coming from a 2004 CTS-V. I'll be downgrading in power, and going from a 6 speed manual to a 5 speed auto, and downgrading from a fantastic pushrod V8 rumble to an admittedly nice sounding VQ howl (personal preference) but upgrading in almost every other sense.
The G has tech and premium packages (V doesn't have a HD in the dash, no adaptive cruise, no steering wheel audio controls), is 3 years newer with 35K less miles than the G. Also has AWD, a factory warranty still (The V was CPO and warranty ran out in March), G has better mpg to boot.
Check out youtube user "speedogomer" to see vids of my V, and see what I mean about the V8 sound.
All in all, I'm definitely looking forward to a much more reliable vehicle with AWD, more options, all in a nice looking package.

I would say a huge upgrade for me. I went from a 96 Subaru Legacy Wagon to my recently purchased G35S sedan 5AT premium with Nav.

Dont have a G yet. But im definitely in the market for one. Just lurking on this forum trying to gather as much info as possible. Went from a 03 1.8t VW jetta 5spd chipped (absolutely loved that car) to a 03 Mercedes E320. Needed a more spacier "adult" vehicle because I had a child and was getting older. Loved the weird looks and attention I got from being young driving the mercedes, but it was a snorefest to drive, with no nav or any special features, and Ive put a ton of miles on. Its starting to show its age with numerous minor problems. Looking for a newer sportier vehicle with a manual transmission. So its between a second generation g coupe or sedan or a bmw 535i. Its good to see all the cars you guys have come from.

2008 VW GTI 6MT to 2007 Ivory Pearl G35 6MT
Previously had a 2003 Z three cars ago and at that time wanted a G but couldn't afford it. Now, here I am.

I was a proud owner of a rare 2004 Nissan Maxima in a rare 6 speed manual transmission fully loaded leather... But my 2007 Infiniti G35x awd sedan is an upgrade...

Upgradeeeee went from a 2002 nissan altima 5 speed that blew the engine at 100k miles to a 2005 G35 coupe 6mt. Love my G for now, next upgrade will probably be a 335i
. I also have a 2007 Camry SE V6 but this one is a keeper 268hp, 31 mpg, 14.5 @99 1/4 mile and I can comfortably fit 5 people in the car plus Toyota reliability.

I just upgraded from a 2005 Nissan Morano SE - AWD. Nice car just got boring to drive. not to mention I got my ***** busted for driving a soccer mom vehicle! haha
I got a GREAT deal on my 2007 G35x. I paid $15,500 from a private seller leaving the country for a job so he had to unload it. Carfaxed, no accidents, and the Infiniti dealership gave me all his maintenence records before buying the car. Only bad thing is 73,000 miles. Still extremely happy!

2008 Subaru WRX STI. Not sure on the upgrade or downgrade yet. I do know I have more room with the new baby though!
