Finally confirmed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After a couple weeks of debate with the dealer on when my vehicle will arrive from Japan (which hasnt been shipped) my sales man surprised me yesterday when i went in to get a quote on my 2000 Maxima. I walked in and saw the car sitting in the showroom
I had on order a 07 sport nav/tech/prem with spoiler Ivory/Graphite incomming from Japan for 40,002.00. They brought one in from a local dealer with all of that including active 4 wheel steer and the interior color stone, and offered me 40,495.00. So i will take this baby off the lot this weekend. I am very excited to finally be able to wake up and see this beauty out side like most of you..

2 questions- is that a good price for all that equipment? it was like 43k after taex etc etc... and can i get a good explanation for the 4 wheel active steer?

also big props to that guy in hawaii..hottest looking g yet

It's real, it does work, the steering ratio is the biggest feature, at <20mph where you would normally have to turn the wheel 1 complete turn, you only need to turn it a little over 1/2 way. Then at higher speeds >75MPH if you were to yank the steering wheel a 1/4 turn without 4WAS it would send you off in a ditch, where with 4WAS, that 1/4 turn translate to 20% less in actual turning of the vehicle, and the car side-steps a bit due to the rear wheels shifting the car, It smooths out your reactions, especially on the come back, where the compensation to an initial over reaction could make things worse. From all I've read, it's a nice safty feature as well as a performance feature as It's supposed to handle a little better because less body roll will take place.

The M45's offer this package as well, and so does BMW on their 3 series.

For me, since I had to order the car, it's a no-brainer, I wasn't going to leave the package off.

Something to note:

The M35 Sport and M45 Sport only have Rear-Wheel Active Steering (RWAS).

BMW's equipped with Active-Steering (AS) only works on the front wheels.

The new G35 is the only current production car in this class that has Active Steering on both front and rear wheels (4WAS).

Good point. My site performs feature-based price comparisons, and the G35 gets credit for this as two features.

I'd be interested in seeing how it feels, personally, especially the front steering. I'm pretty much okay with BMW's active steering, but the system in the Lexus GS totally destroys the feel of the steering.
