When I turn on my engine in the morning, it revs up to 2k rpm. My accord never rev'd that high at idle. Is this normal?

 

It seems to be, mine does the samething.

 

There was a post about this before and everyones 07 reved around the same rpm at start-up.
It goes up to 2,000 for a few seconds then starts to gradually slow down.
I noticed mine only goes up to 1,800 rpm now, since I have broken it in.

 

I know this is a sedan post but hey guess what...lol...you guessed it me too!

 

I understand that most newer cars do this including Hondas and Toyotas and it supposedly it has something to do with emissions.

 

completely normal. every car will do this

 

My 04 starts out @ 1600 and then comes down as it gets warm. Sounds normal to me.

 

Mine does the same and I'm in the same area as you. Also, most cars of this type don't redline at 7,500, so we should be good.

 

i let it rev down to like 1200 or 1000 before driving..

 

Gets the oil pressure up asap and helps light the cats/pre-cats faster.
