Help - 2007G35x Fuel Economy

Wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue. I just bought my car three weeks ago and can't seem to get an avg. L/100km below 20 (approx. 11 mpg). I am a city driver but can't possibly believe the car has mileage that is this horrible.

Has anyone else experienced this with their new g35x cars ??

I love the car but this is crazy !

Thanks

You should get much better than that, but you have only had the car for 3 weeks so give it a chance to break-in. I have never gotten that bad of mpg on my X.

Thanks. I actually think there must be a problem with the car. Even with breaking it in, I don't think the mileage could be that bad !!

I wonder what it is.......nervous !!!

I get anywhere from 17 to 23 US mpg with my car in mixed driving depending on temps and the way I am driving.
I should clarify that my mixed driving would put me on the highway at least 75% of the time.

Since break-in I've gone as low as 13mpg on exclusively back roads, with some fairly heavy throttle. 11 sounds pretty low tho.

11mpg sounds like a V8 Chevy Tahoe with a full trunk.

16-20 here. I've been doing a lot of city, back road and heavy throttle driving and the car loves to suck the gas down. When I'm just cruisin on the freeway it's 20 and above.

I've only driven 100 miles, but it says i'm avg 11 mpg. But also I've pretty much driven all local in LA traffic with a avg speed of 10mph ;0(

Man....somethings gotta be wrong, I got 14mpg when my 05 F150 was brand new, thats with the 5.4! Our new G35x is getting around 19-20 mpg with 900 miles on the clock.

How are you getting your 11 mpg avg? Based on the computer readout, or are you doing an actual calculation? Try the actual calc and if that tells you your getting the same mileage I would worry. If it makes more sense when you calc it out then that means the computer is computing it incorrectly and i would think the dealership could fix that more easily. I have a 6MT that I've owned for less than 2 weeks and I get around 20 mpg avg city and highway.

Thanks all. Taking the car in tomorrow to check but dealership up in Toronto says a mix of the cold and the wear in period is causing the bad mileage. He said he has had a bunch of calls from new 35x owners. I'll let you know....

thx
