Drove an '07 Loaner today - my impression

Very impressive. The interior is vastly improved over the previous model(s) IMO.
The high stall TC that came in the 1st gen is now an even higher stall. It gives you the whiplash effect if you are not careful while trying to drive normal. But it sure is fun when you are getting on it.
... love the center console display.

... hated the seat adjustment position. Once the driver door is closed, you have to have midget hands to readjust your seat.

Overall however it was a very nice ride and I almost did not miss my coupe.
I hope the '08 coupe is at least as nice.

It's ironic that you say that about the seat adjustment controls. For the longest time now, ppl have always complained about the previous placement towards the middle console. Personally, I always thought it was fine where they were before.

I agree, I would have liked it if they kept the seat position controls where you can reach them easily.

If you're the only driver of the car, and even if you're not there's a memory setting, how many times do you need to readjust your seat???

High stall torque converter.
It enhances the car's ability to get of fthe line by allowing for higher revs before fully engaging the tranny- kinda like slipping the clutch in a MT.
The previous gen had a "semi high stall" TC. This one is even more notceable. In manual mode it was a little twitchy if you are used to driving the older gen. The new gen has a more aggresive reponse to throttle input- add to the a higher stall TC and it will move off the line quick. You have to be especially careful while turning and engaging the throttle- I almost learned that the hard way. Once I got used to it- it was fun fun fun...

I didn't see a memory setting on the loaner- I guess that would make up for the controles being hard to get to.
that was the only thing I could really complain about. Infiniti did a good job with this one.

Seat memory settings come with the premium package which the loaner probably didn't have.

Sounds like you drove a basic or a journey model. Should have asked for the S....

I have to agree on the seat controls, I had to open the door to adjust the seat in the '07 loaner I had (I got the first '07 loaner they had, with just 125 miles on it), and it was a Journey with the premium package, but loved the rest of the car completely!
