I didn't get an ETA but I'm glad they are aware and working on the problem.
AWESOME news, thanks for sharing with us. The fact that Infiniti is AWARE of this makes me feel better.

Well took my G in to the dealer today and they said that there was nothing they could or would do about the grill. Because my car had other "dings and pits" on the front bumber and hood that it was casued by rocks or other debris on the road.

Lets hope they open a TSB for this so I dont have to go through that argument again.

I talked to the guys at Infiniti of Nashua and my service rep mentioned something to the effect of Infiniti being aware of the issue. However, invoice from visit doesn't mention anything to that effect. They are going to be in touch with corporate, however, and hopefully they'll have a solution ready to go by the time they get my new instrument cluster in.

This thread prompted me to send a note to Infiniti (Infiniti web site) about my grill. Probably a good idea if everyone else with the problem does too, so they get it directly.

I have sent several letters and made several phone calls to Infiniti Canada and trust me they are no help. They take the diagnosis from the service department at face value, and to them that is the end of it.

I just filled out my customer satisfaction survey for my new G and made sure that I commented on the grill in the "other comments" section. Let's see if I am contacted by Infiniti....I won't hold my breath though.

In the interim, untill a replacement is available, what's the best way to minimize chipping? Not sure if this thing is chrome or plastic, but will waxing help?..or some other protectant? .....or is it just a lost cause...

Noticed my first grill pit today. Had none on my 03 in over 70 k miles. Must be the coating on the plastic is thin or stressed; either way I plan to formally complain at the dealership and also write to Infiniti. This is much too nice a car for such stuff.

My guy just told me to call Infiniti Customer Service @ 1.866.662.6200 I am sure its just a generic automated Cust. Service line. I will call it at some point when I have some time to sit and listen to elevator music. I'll let you know if it seems to be worth us ALL calling and complaining.
