They do look like cousins at a family reunion...is that a bad thing? But basically they are diffent cars underneath. The Altima does have the great tailights but I dislike its front wheel drive overhang....give me that short , clipped front of the G.
Even the previous models have had a similarity..I now have a new '07 and had an '03 G. The fun in this comparison will reach a peak when the new coupes from both labels appear.

Yes, G and A are on two completely different platforms, but bc they are in the same family, they do share similiarities. "G" sets the standard and "A" gets all the hand me downs (i.e. push-button start - which, kinda pissed me off when I saw it).

Here's an article explaining the "brand linkage" that they are trying to make. They also refer to the Altima as the "poor man's G35".

That's because an ES350 IS a rebadged Camry.

 

The bottom point is, the G35 and Altima have nothing to be compared about.

So, why is this still going on?

The Infiniti G35 is not a rebadged Nissan Altima; The G35 isnt even a rebadged 350z, although they share the same platform and are very similar.

And we know that people just say this sort of stuff to put down G35 owners... so why bother caring???

The fact that threads such as this one go on, make the case even worse.
