Just bought a new G!!...new to the forum...

Hey Everyone,

A couple of weeks ago I bought a new G35 with premium and sport packages which should be arriving in late April. It is black on black. I am very excited! I am new to Infiniti so I hope it treats me well.

Question about 3M: Do you have it, and if so, what area's did you get done? How much did it cost? Should I do the front bumper in addition to the hood, fender, and mirrors?

Thanks and I look forward to learning from all of you!
Tom

I got my G with the Autobahnd Roadblock installed at the dealership. It was 695 for outside mirrors, 1/3 the hood, the bumper, and front portions of fenders. I don't know how the price compares but I'm very happy with the clearbra.

Congrats on placing your order. Don't forget to sign the Canadian registry below.

Post some pics when it gets here!

Haha, hey GarnetCanuck...can we sign that registry you linked to? The title says GTA and area only! And G-Three-Five and myself are both from way out West

Congrats on the new G Tom! I got a 3M clear bra installed using the XPel kit on the bumber, approximately 1/3 hood and fenders, front of the side mirrors and a small piece around the grill for about $725.

I think we need to petition Shane and Colin to grant us Westerners a sticky registry, I'm sure there is some sort of paper work or legislative process that can make the Eastern Canadian members recognize the West!

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I am pumped to get this beauty!

As for the 3M, the dealer quoted me $300 (Canadian figures) for 3M protection on 1/3 hood, mirrors, and fenders. I then asked him how much it would be for the front bumper and he said another $300+. I think I am going to shop around but he says they install it using some kind of laser cutting machine which makes the measurements really exact and professional looking. I don't know what to do. I might be able to get it done at the same place I will get my windows tinted? But then I run the risk of getting dings/chips on it while driving it over there. What are we really paying for here, the actual 3M product or because the labor is so much for this car? Is it worth it to get it done at the "stealer"?

I got mine installed at a local tint shop that is certified by 3m. You're paying for the film, the shop's use of the template to cut the kit, and labor. It actually takes quite a while to do a good job. The shop that did mine uses a template from XPel and uses a flowjet to accurately cut out the pieces.

Hey TOM!
I've had an Infiniti for most of my cars - (J30, I30, QX4, Q45, FX45, M45, and G35). Am I addicted? Yes. Great cars... and loving this new G.

Welcome to the family!
