If you Mod's/Facilitators could present even one case that set a precedence for finding an open forum site accountable for the distribution of information which resulted in the unfavourable actions of others, PLEASE DO SHARE. OTEHRWISE - KEEP YOUR PROPAGANDA TO YOURSELVES.
This is entirely about a power trip. People on here want to talk about a topic you don't like - and are thus pulling some dictatorship over our heads.
We can talk about how to install illegal speed detectors, illegal tinting, removal of speed limitors, etc ... and you're going to try and tell me this is about SAFETY???? COME ON???? What boat did you guys get off of?
If you're even a remotely rationale person, you will recognize that you're wrong on this one. You contradict the entire notion of free speech and the use of the internet, and you have no place overseeing what gets posted on this site.
Prove me wrong.

If you don't like the forum's decions to not condone this topic than leave....it's quite simple really.
I have had ENOUGH!
I'm tired of seeing this thread on top of the list.
The moderators made a decision (personally I do not agree) and that's that. THEY run the forum. Not us. Anyone who doesn't like it can start one of your own.
I think we've beaten this horse enough.
Lets move on!

Hi, I'm GeoBau, but you can refer to me by my native american name, "He who digs up threads that would best be left alone".
Being a Mod on this site can be easy, or hard. All that stands between the two extremes is how much you are dedicated to standing by the principles that both you and your peers engender. Shane has made his job hard. Please don't misunderstand that as me saying he's making it hard on himself, rather that he has chosen to universally enforce ideas that we at the top of the food chain believe in. He has taken it upon himself to work hard and sacrifice his sanity to make this a better forum.
My job is relatively easy- The Admins get to sit up on Mt. Olympus and proffer dictums that the people who really do the grunt work must enforce. When the sh*t hits the fan, we get to sweep in like the Valkyries after the battle and write long-winded posts that use pretentious words like "proffer" and "dictums".
We, the Admins and Mods, as peers and long-standing members of this site, stand behind Shane's decision 100%. This is not some unilateral action on his part-- he speaks for us all, and we trust his judgement. For anyone to call into question his qualifications or ability to moderate this forum is asinine, at best.
What most of the people who've posted regarding this issue fail to realize is, the topic is one we were going to allow among members. It was something about which we were willing to turn the other way. As Shane said, we would not outwardly condone it by giving it a 'sticky', which is usually reserved for topics that we as mods/admins feel is a Must-Know topic. When it was first requested, the idea was unanimously declined. When it was suggested again, it was politely rejected. By the 10th time, the blood-pressure began to rise.
A simple acknowledgement of our wishes, whether you agreed or not, was all that was necessary to keep your discussion. Instead, you pushed... and pushed. And now, you have nothing. Congratulations.
Show some respect for those who have built this community. Show some tact in your manner. Show some common decency for those who work tirelessly on your behalf. We can be your advocates, or we can be your worst enemies. The choice is yours.
One final note: Anyone who has a problem with Shane, has a problem with me.
George
