Luckily, I am very unlikely to get offended at this point in life. I can match "mouths" with most guys I know and make a few of them blush.

As for the other ladies, I can't comment.

You guyz r funny....

I read books that talk about killing people. Does that mean I shouldn't be responsible for killing someone since I read it from a book? I can blame the writer/publisher?

What if I wrote a web site on how to break in new cars that said "run your engine at readline for 10 hours straight"....

Get real...

sad that my on topic and respectful post with numerous valid points contrary to the moderators' was deleted. just sayin...

garnet if u deleted... was my subject of "call the waaaahmbulance" really such an attack? i realize everyones a bit riled up but really... the points in my post were quite valid.

SPEED: i welcome a debate regarding the legal issues of this anytime... but obviously thats best kept out of this thread.

You would be responsible for killing someone but the publisher and writer *could* be held liable - at least in a wrongful death suit - if you use the exact method they state in the book.

It's all about whether someone is willing to risk it and frankly, it's been stated repeatedly that the owners of this site have chosen NOT to risk it.

I think the problem is that the "owners" decision is arbitrary, and very hard to defend. They have drawn an inconsistant and wavy line in the sand, and have decided to stick to it. It is ridiculous, but I guess SPEED summed it up best when he said it is what it is. And what is it? A total load of BS. But, they are in control, so we take it or leave it. There you go.

Maybe they will still be gracious enough to allow us to complain about it. The last "drama" of someone suggesting a different organization and a change to all of the post movings didn't go too well for him...

yeah....
You came here from another forum with nothing to offer except opinions on something that have nothing to do with you and offer them in the most inflammatory way possible. Why don't you just go back to wherever this was linked and stay out of it.

It was his method of creating the drama that was the problem, not that he created it.

I too wish that the question of why it is of issue now but not before would be addressed. I'm guessing from being around a while that it is being discussed. One thing you all seem to not realize is that these guy try very hard to make joint decisions AFTER discussing them amongst themselves. They all have their own opinions and discuss things out before deciding them. There are very precious few arbitrary decisions made here.

This is a touchy subject with alot of you, and I realize that......but cut me some damn slack here.......don't think that this is just MY doing.
Yeah, I'm not blaming you Canuck. But, you were the original starter of this thread, and the language of your post was rather, er, heated and emotional I'll call it. So, I think you are bearing the brunt of it. You're a good guy, but I guess if you are going to sit in the mod seat, you have to take one on the chin from time to time.

And, I'm glad you are willing to admit and address the arbitrariness of this rule, and unequal enforcement. So now you are going to have to start drawing lines. But where do these rules stop? Delete all of the Nav defeat threads? What about talk of chipping your car? What if someone gets in an accident from that, omg you guys could be sued? Street racing talk? Advocating buying a service manual CD and making copies for everyone? Posting pictures or other material that may be copyrighted? It is a slippery slope you guys are on. Best not to even be on it.

Also, I wish there was less deleting of people's posts, because their opinion is different or unpopular from the admins. Jeez, unless (or maybe even if) it is total flame bate, just let it be, we are all grown up here. (Even if some don't act like it).

Im new to G35, and I think I understand the topic quite well. I simply noticed the immaturity that I have left other forums for, in some of the posts in this thread. Is there a fine line that needs to be drawn for adults who would like to skip the drama and stay divulged in their hobby?

1. Audi, did you happen to come from kidracer.com/forums?

2. Moderators, there are good arguments in here on this topic...and, screaming fire in a movie theater is a bit of a perversion of freedom of speech, no?

I don't really understand. It's a free forum as SPEEED so eloquently put it earlier. There are still rules. I'm going to try my best and stay out of this because I don't get what all of the whining is about. If the Admins/Mods don't want certain topics on the forum than they have every right to get rid of it. Just like I have every right to refuse service to someone that walks into my store. Would it be a popular decision? No...and neither is the decision they made about the Navi threads. If you don't like it then there are plenty of other forums to go to. I think the mods/admins have done a god job of keeping this a great place to come and discuss issues on and off topic. They even made the navigation (of the forum) a little more organized the last couple of days. I'm sorry but I don't think this should be the Amsterdam of forums. Not everything goes. My $.02

Yeah, you could definitely say that my original post was a little heated. And I definitely don't mind taking the brunt of this......that is part of being a Mod. I just want to make sure that everyone understands that wasn't a decision made solely by me. After reading some of the comments here, some members seem to think that this was only my decision and I am over-moderating just because I can. That's not the case.

I have been on this forum for some time....and i've seen alot of people come and go,and alot of topics that for one reason or another, caused the Mod/Admins to have to step in and take control.

I agree that everyone has the right to voice their opinion. However, this is a public site, and that doesn't mean that by becoming a member, it gives you or anyone the right to decide what is or what isn't a proper topic to discuss..

It is after all their website. Kyle has always in the past been very generous and forgiving to any individual that may have tested his authority.

Maybe its because I'm older, but I think everyone needs to respect the decisions made by the people who oversee this site. Each and every one of the members add a little to the overall design of the forum...Lets let the people in charge do what they do, and we can continue to do what we do within the confines of this website.....

Can't we all just get along?
