The only thing is, I know that they Demo cars are dirven really hard. What do you guys think? I was thinking if I went with the Demo I would negotiate a extended warranty into the deal. Currently, the Demo car has 4500 miles on it.
I test drove the G several times.. I was hard on it.. but not abusive. Hopefully.. your will be that way too. They have great warranties.. so you should be fine..
Before I would purchase a "Used" new car I'd want to know I got one heck of a deal, it is a used car now. I read recently that Consumer Report suggest that the Invoice price and Retail price are only numbers fabricated to trick the car buying public into thinking that the dealer is only making $500 when they sell a car for $500 over invoice. That's the price I paid for my G. When in reality it not $500 over anything, it's a fabricated number. They pay much less than invoice, plus incentive for volume, etc. If anyone wants the number for Consumer Reports PM me and I'll try to respond at the end of the day, or maybe I can post the number tomorrow if there is any interest. I believe they say it cost something like $14 to get the true dealer purchase price for you car. I don't know from experience if you will truely get your money worth but I think it's worth a try. I only subscribed after I bought my car. Bummer. I will do it next time thought. I trust consumer reports.
I'd buy low if you buy used and be ready to walk away from that car and buy new if you are not saving at least $2k to $3k less than you'd pay for new. As other have said, the G is solid but why risk it. The warrenty is 4500 mile shorter (10% almost) the tires have 4500 more miles of wear (20 to 25% used, depending on which tires) and who know how it was broken in. Get a great deal or buy new. that my advice.
