Otherwise, sounds like a bad sensor. Note that mine sometimes come on in limited light (toward the end of the day, long shadows, no direct sunlight), but not with the sun actually shining on them.

Let's try another approach ... what country do you live in? That will hint to us as to whether or not you have DRL.

If you have a US spec car, what you describe sounds really odd .....
Maybe a trip the dealer is in order ??
Maybe the headlight sensor is stuck in its "dark" state hence always powering on the headlights.
Do the headlights go off when you turn the switch to off ?? In that case you have a workaround till it gets fixed !
