RPM at 80mph?

Is this true or was this just someone posting BS, on another forum, i did a search here and didn't find anything.
60 mph => slightly less than 2400 rpm
70 mph => slightly less than 2800 rpm
80 mph => very close to 3200 rpm

All of this is in 6th gear.

My 03 does 80 at exactly 3000 rpm in 6th, so if you get a 6-speed your G will be very close to your current car Marcello.

No - this new engine is more rev-happy.
See my post above -- 80 @6th is around 3200.

I checked this on the way home last night and I was just shy of 3200 RPM in 6th.

Yup - same deal here .... very close to 3200 rpm

I was thinking about this on my drive up, and realized i was off with my car. Im at 80mph at about 2.6k or so, it has a 4speed auto. My brothers passat that i drove yesterday is exactly at 3k. Yet the passat stays smooth through to red line, more refined than my Chrysler, while mine feels more jerky.

It seeemed like at 65, the RPM was 2.8k and 3k for 80mph.
