Question about Intelligent key
I thought it did this once, but it must have been a just my imagination. I haven't been able to get it to autolock since. Does anyone know if the ECU can be programmed to autolock the doors when the I-key is out of range? Perhaps with a 30-60 second delay.
The auto lock that you are thinking of, is when you have left the car for a little bit (like in your garage) and then you go back to it to grab something. Above the start button a light that says lock will start flashing. When you get out of the car, it locks on you. This is only if you went back without the I-Key. I was able to replicate it a few times using this method.
I'll give it a try, to see if i can get it to work. I wish it would just auto-lock when the I-key is out of range. I guess the I-key system is not that intelligent.
Edit>> OK I cant' get the car to auto lock. I see the Lock above the push button, but it never flashes. I left my I-key in the house, open the car door got in. The dash said No-Key, push button Lock was lit. Got out, interior light when out, waited like 5 min.... no auto-lock. What gives?

Park and lock your car normally. After several minutes, walk to the garage and hit the unlock button on the I-Key. Walk away. Go back to the car 5 minutes later, and it'll be locked. I think it's intended to protect you should you decide to unlock the car and then get distracted and forget to actually get in it... so it re-locks.
The Rube Goldberg Car
After following your instructions the car did lock itself. I couldn't figure out what sequence caused it to autolock before. This car is like a Rube Goldberg comtraption, remember the game Mouse Trap.
Does anyone know how configure the car to autolock itself when the I-key is out of range, without having to lock and unlock the car first. For example you just park the car and walk away and presto, it self locks. This seems to me to be a useful feature. Is this something the dealer can configure in the cars firmware?
