Only you can answer that question. If you live at home with your parents and have no expenses, then you can easily afford it.

Without knowing the specifics of your budget this is an impossible question for anyone to answer and the only one that can is yourself. Try one of the web based cost calculators with what you think you would put down as a reasonable down payment including trade (if you plan to sell/trade your current vehicle), if the monthly payment + insurance + gas is something you can live with accounting for the rest of your expenses, then go for it. If not then perhaps you should consider a lease or a less expensive vehicle. Sure the G is a sweet car, but no car is worth not being able to make ends meet.

Best of luck with your decision.

How much are your expenses a month? and how much do you make?

ITs pretty simple, I would say you have to have an extra 700 a month, in order to afford the car(modding not included.)

Possibly look for a used one. There are some already on autotrader with very low miles.
No dealer fees, depreciation already taken.. same car with a few miles for much less..

Make sure that after your car payment, insurance, gas, etc. - you still have enough money to do the things you enjoy. Otherwise no, you shouldn't spend your money that way. There's no use having your money locked into a car if that significantly limits your life in other ways.

I've heard the rule of thumb is that you should only engage in financing a new car that costs 1/3 of your gross annual salary, keeping in mind rent/mortgage payment. Of course if you have neither of those then it'll be much more "affordable", but perhaps not the smartest idea.

No offense, but if you have to ask, then the answer is probably no. I'd say, let the bank tell you what you can afford or Mr. Repo. You could always lease one; might be a little cheaper for you. Either way, if you can't afford it now, just keep test driving it.

All the better....perhaps he wised up and realized he shouldn't shouldn't be getting financial advice from total strangers.
