Roof noise fixed!

So I've had this nagging noise coming from the roof liner right behind the sunroof. Every time I would hit a small bump or be on a rough road there was a soft rustling sound. Very minor but kind of annoying none the less. (There was a thread about this a long time ago). When they fixed the sunroof liner they said the noise was gone, but of course it wasn't. After two more trips to the dealer they finally admitted to hearing something. I'm not sure exactly what they did , but it involved going through the rear of the sunroof. Now the noise is gone!!! Miracle.
Side note - I drove a Serengeti Sand as a loaner and wasn't too wild about the color. Made me love my platinum graphite all that much more.

Did you get an '07 loaner? They never give me an '07 since I already have one, and there's no need to up-sell me.

That would be nice. I think I need to bring my car in for server early. Where is the dealership you are talking about?

Every time I've gone in I've gotten an '07 loaner. Always the base model - kind of boring after driving it fully loaded.

They give me the fully loaded '06, which has even less miles than my car does. The prev generation sedan's exhaust are definitely more audible than the '07s.

Doug, if you find out what the remedy was, let us know.

I started a thread about this annoying noise a few months ago. Same story w/ me - complained to dealer and they said they couldnt hear it, so the did the sunroof fix instead. Noise was still there. But, believe it or not I think i fixed it earlier this week - As I was driving down a "less than smooth" road it started up w/ the noise. Out of frustration I started pushing and then lightly punching the roof liner! I heard a brief , but louder version of the noise and then it was gone. I keep listening for it everyday, but I think it may be actually gone

I remember your thread. They told me the same thing - that they couldn't hear it - on multiple visits. I actually let the guy take my car home for the night so he could drive all around. He then claimed to hear "something". Again, I don't know exactly what they did, but it involved stuffing his hand through the back of the sunroof. I don't think they put anything additional in, but maybe just moved around the roof liner. At any rate, noise is gone!
