Is this normal, hesitation (not related to gas pedal lack of responsiveness)

i don't think printing out this thread is gonna help your reputation with said dealer.
good luck with your car.

Is it the same reflash that was supposed to fix the overagressive throttle tip-in? I had that one done and the tip-in was gone but the hesitation described in this thread is still there. I previously assumed it had to do with the ECU "learning" from my driving style Hesitation is annoying since I am often caught in stop-n-go and can't rely on the car responding quickly enough to give me that instant burst of speed to chage into a faster lane.

I noticed similiar lag in my 08 auto. If I drive in normal auto mode and floor it there is a big, noticeable delay and then whooosh. ALL THE POWER AT ONCE. It kind of annoys me too. Even in manual mode I'll downshift and apply throttle and get a delay...car rocks into 2nd...and then goes. I hate it. Overall I like the car but it do have my share of pet peeves.

Yeah, Me too. Just as described here. Has that slight hesitation under those circumstances. I've had the TSBs applied - issued April 29, 2009 forgot the #, but it was for slight rough idle at Cold Engine start up (no matter what the outside temp) and slight hesitation. Helped just a very little. My ECU was replaced by my Dealer when on a service appointment, a Service Advisor on an unauthorized basis applied a 08- version of TSB ECU upgrade that sppiled EVERYTHING. The car totally changed. The Service Manager agreed with a test drive, and replaced the ECU with a new Un-Upgraded one. It's better than after the erroneous upgrade was done, BUT it still not the same as my original.

I have the same problem with my 06 X..
From my point of view, it seems like the knock sensor is backing the ignition timing.. thus loosing power for a second, and gradualy putting it back to full power... Well this is how I see it...
I run 91 octane fuel and some people run 93 but still have the same problem...
I wonder if this "sprint booster" kind of module could eliminate this problem ??

^ i think it would, all that unit does is to make the car think that the accelerator is pressed more than you are actually pressing thus it "feels" like its quicker and responding faster, just keep in mind that you will have no gains in power but should "feel" quicker and thus less hesitation.
