Lets do a count of who has had what problems on their G
This is scaring me!
Seriously, I have 3,800 miles and haven't had a single problem.
The paint is soft and totally sucks on all new cars.
I know the BMW 335 is having fuel pump failures and overheating issues.
What is the sunroof finisher issue? Is that the accordian like black piece on either side that expands when the roof is opened?

Wind Noise
I am taking my car in to the dealer tomorrow to get the drivers side wind noise problem taken care. It's not the door weather stripping thats causing the noise its the rubber piece around the window that needs to be replaced. The seal is not good enough when the window is all the way up. All other windows are super quiet. Maybe all they have to do is align the window a bit better because the strip looks like its in great shape? Who knows. I will give an update when/if it gets fixed.

most of the problem are being fix i think, they've already order the parts for me so im just waitin for it to arrive.
btw dealer tried to give me bs about my car being in the shop before, he was asking about my black roof. i told him the problem exist before i even went in the body shop.
after a few mins pursuaing another guy he finally agree to replace it for me

Its funny. When I posted some of these issues 6 months ago, some members in the forum stated that I was begin to picky or just over bitchy. But now that I see so many others with the same problmes I just dont know about Infinitis first year quality any more.
- heated seat problem – waiting for parts
- wind noise coming from driver window
- wind noise coming from rear windows – dealer says its not that bad
- the dash rattles when hitting bumps or uneven pavement
- grill chips
- rattle sound coming from passenger seat
- rattle/ticking sound coming from rear passenger door/seats
- turning light in headlight assembly (little orange one) has burnt out
- brakes make a grinding noise when releasing from a dead stop
- steering column will drop half an inch when pressure is applied after it is moved/adjusted
- door/speaker rattles with specific bass notes (no I don’t have the bass turned all the way up)
- thud/brushing sound coming from headliner (behind sunroof) when hitting expansion joints
- lack of throttle response when the car is cold an in its high rpm warm up
- phone pairing has been lost 3 times (phone is on approved Infiniti list)
- hard to sift out of park (does not happen too often) but it is a pain nonetheless
- sunroof leaks a small amount of water with heavy rain
After one month, I haven't encountered any major problem yet.
The only complaint I have is the headlights' auto-on feature. Seems like I have a bad sensor or something. After I pass through a bridge's shadow, the lights would come on and stay on. However, another member suggested that I adjusted the headlights' auto-on sensitivity to maximum, and that has fixed the problem.
The car has been a pleasure to drive so far. The engine is smooth and strong, the SOW is good (it has enough bass IMO), and the nav is fantastic.

I'm going to exclude problems that were a direct result of being rear ended
If I added those, that'd be unfair. Otherwise, here's the list in the order they were discovered in:
1) Dash rattle (still unfixed)
2) Rear passenger door wind noise (fixed with TSB)
3) Gas gap tether pin pops out (waiting for part for TSB)
4) Sunroof finisher pops out (TSB, had to bring it in twice, as they only fixed one side the first time even though I told them to fix both sides)
5) Lost voice tags for phone contacts (TSB, need to take it in to get fixed)
6) Constant static hiss from front speakers even with unit turned off (replaced amp, then replaced audio head unit and now all is good)
7) heated seat problem (fixed with TSB)
8) Moonroof leaking during heavy rain/car was (need to bring it in)
9) Moonroof rattling (need to bring it in)
10) Speaker popping sound (need to bring it in.
11) Door molding falling off (need to bring it in)
12) Passenger side airbag disarmed alot when my wife is in it (need to bring it in)
The dash rattle, audio hiss and moon roof leak and rattle, speaker popping and door molding are non-TSB problems. Everything else was TSB problems that should be easy for them to fix. In general, I'm really disappointed with how the service team handles things. They're friendly, but don't seem overly concerned with taking care of problems I have unless I bring the car in multiple times. They also don't seem overly concerned with timeframes. It seems like they figure I shoudl be happy because I get a loaner car, so however long it takes them shouldn't matter. I'm thinking of going to the other infiniti dealer in town for my next service and see if they're any better. They're more out of the way for me than the dealer I normally go to, but we'll see.

i forgot to add the passenger airbag disarming when my gf is in the passenger seat also....this is very noticeable at night when all of the sudden the light turns on in the dark and we look at each other and she makes sure her seat belt is on lol
Perhaps that is why they say not to buy first year cars. I am hestitant on the G37 until the MY2009-MY2010 for this reason.
I believe they came out with a 2003.5 G35 sedan to fix all the little problems you don't find until you hit production. It seems like most of the G35 sedan problems are with the cars built the first half of the year. Perhaps they have addressed some of these problems with the G35 sedans on lots now.

Hmm...
I absolutely love this car but I've had my share of problems also:
- heat seater issue, dealer hasnt fixed.
- the leather on the driver's seat is wearing down already! I treat it normally, but I guess I wear alot of jeans..?
- sunroof lining fell out, got it fixed, a couple of days ago something else from the sunroof assembly fell out..gotta get it fixed.
- the paint is so soft and scratchable.. 8 months in and my car looks like a spiderweb, honestly it's as bad as a car that's been driven for at least 3 years...hopefully a good polish will get rid of most of that.
- grill chipping..
- windshield wipers started sucking last week (11600 miles)
OH how could I forget:
- the plastic lining of the driver's door is almost completely off, and those of a couple of the other doors are coming off also..THIS ONE IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE.
- I've given up trying to sync my phonebook, voicetags, etc...
I have every single one of these problems too..you are not alone.
