can we get a mod to do a sticky of problems + solutions thread? I have noticed many people have good advice on how to either fix a simple problem your self or how to explain someone else what the solution is I.E. dealerships because i dont know if its me or not but any dealership i go to i usually know more about their products than they do and most people on here have mentioned that the dealerships arent aware of these problems and state " wow this is the first time i ever heard about this"

In 1500 miles so far, the only thing that happens almost every day when I start the car for the first time is that I cannot get it out of Park unless I take my foot off the brake and reapply it again. "Almost" every single time, and yet when those rare occasions happen where the stick glides out of Park the first time, I don't notice doing anything different. Anybody else have this quirk?

Wow I actually have this problem. Thought it was just me. It's super annoying, I kept thinking it was my fault and that I didn't step on the break hard enough or tried getting it outta park too soon or something.

yes, I have this problem too and a couple of other people had mentioned it as well..

I *believe* the problem is we're not depressing the little button on the shifter enough.. you just have to be meticulous about it, apparently.

You think you have problems?

After reading this thread I got that "oh sh*t" feeling and wondered if maybe I traded in my ES for a new set of problems. Waxing nostalgic, I wandered over to ClubLexus.com, to see what's happening there. I felt lots better after reading about the problems Lexus is STILL having with their crapola transmissions. How about dozens of ES owners on their 2nd or 3rd transmission under 25000 miles? How about "buybacks" to get owners out of their crapola cars into more expensive Lexus models? Now, that's the way to trade them up!

No, they haven't even started to fix that mess. They're swapping out transmissions like window washer fluid. I bet they're even swapping them between cars. I'm sticking with my G, thanks.

BTW, the paint is an issue most new cars have now since Lead based paint was outlawed. Yes, those cars in the 90's had much better paint, but somehow I think Nissan/Infiniti is a bit worse than the rest.

I had the transmission flare in my 2k7 Camry. Traded it in within 6 months because they were going to change the tranny.

I really do agree, there are 4 pages of problems listed and not a single "serious" one...these cars are definitely good cars, and there's no way to produce a problem-free vehicle, but problems can and should be fixed as quickly as possible, and the only way to ensure that is to be vocal about the issues we face... it's not like we have to show "gratitude" to Nissan/Infiniti for making a great car by not complaining, that's irrelevant. The goal is rather to MAKE THIS CAR AS GOOD AS IT CAN AND SHOULD BE, by fixing all the stupid little perfectionist details

my $0.15

No one is saying they are serious problems. As far as im concerned when Infiniti releases the 08' without any of these minor problems then they truly have perfected the G ..................unitll they add twin turbos and up the 3.5 to 3.7

I absolutely agree that I bought a great car. The problems I'm running into aren't a big deal. My only problem is there is a HUGE HUGE gap in quality of customer service with the techs between Lexus and Infiniti, at least with the dealers we have here.

Other than getting a loaner car automatically, it's no different than going into the nissan dealer, or the subaru dealer (my wife had a nissan and now a subaru). Huge difference from Lexus service.
