Lost presets...

The other day I got into my car to find all of the presets wiped out. This included XM, FM and AM presets. They were all set back to the factory defaults. The car has never been jumped, or even acted like it had a low battery. The car sometimes sits for more than a week, but that shouldn't cause this. Has anyone else had this issue?

I wonder if this bulletin might help with it. While obviously not directly related it is a lost setting fix.

If you have Nav I suggest you look into the bulletin. While I have not been affected by any lost settings myself it does pertain to a loss of settings that may be related. I intend to have this done to my car in a month or so. This bulletin is only for nav equipped vehicles.

You could try looking at radio diagnostics but probably won't turn up anything for this issue.

Radio diagnostics mode is as follows:
-Start engine
-Turn audio system off
-While pushing the "Setting" button turn the volume control dial clockwise or counterclockwise for 40 clicks or more. Self diagnosis mode is started and a short beep will be heard.

I lost mine a few months back, lost everything but my music box, would be really pissed it i lost everything now. Weird **** is that even now without XM service, i let is expire due to having sirius, if i go to the stations that used to have preset XM stations, the name is still there, but when go to the channel, it goes back to channel 1. WEIRD

Interesting. I've lost my voicetags a couple of times, but I haven't lost any of my presets. I've had the same presets for over 8 months with no issues. It looks like you are not the only one experiencing this though.

Just happened to me...

After 3 years, 11 months of ownership, I've had my G totally lose all radio presets twice in the past week. The car has never acted as if the battery were low. Strange. Any solution?
