I am looking ta a journey that has the 18 inch wheel and tire package on it. My understanding is these are Potenza "summer" tires and I suspect they will wear quickly. Can anyone give me insight as to the average lifespan of those tires? I also see that the front and rear sizes are different, thus rotating them is out, so I gather even when I replace them what ever i put on will wear through front tires faster.... thoughts?

I've seen members on here reporting their tires life span of 9K-15K miles.

I have ~15500mi on the Potenzas and still have a lot of tread left...

Ditto for me. My G35S has just turned over 17K miles, and I still have a lot of tread left. Based on the wear so far, I am hoping to get 25K or more out of the original tires.

When I do have to replace them, I may opt for the Goodyear F1 Eagles that are available from the Tire Rack. These are All Season tires, and should last from 30 - 40K miles.

Maybe that's wishful thinking, but on my last car (2004 Acura TL) I had Michelin Pilot A/S which last for over 40K miles. By some chance if Michelin starts making the Pilot A/S' in 225/50-18 and 245/45-18 I would buy them without even thinking about it.

26k on the stock tires..... all highway. I still have a good 5k left before I have to replace them.

Depends on how hard you drive - don't peel out at every stop sign and red light and in parking lots like a 16 year old, and you'll be good to go! =)

I am an 8000 miles and I think I'm gonna need tires at about <12K. I do drive it a bit hard though.

That's not accurate. I've done a total of one (count 'em, one) really hard launch in my G, just to see what would happen. All other tire wear was a result of either lateral forces (cornering), or that and acceleration out of corners - and I had to change my tires at 9.8k. Front tires had the shoulders rubbed almost flat, rears had more even wear.

One track day was included, which undoubtedly dropped me below 10k miles.

basically it just depends on how you drive. if you drive like you stole the car...your tires will need to be changed at around 10-12k....if you don't drive the car hard like everyday, and maybe once in a blue moon...you might get 25k outta the tires. Take the corners slow (i know its hard to cuz its so much fun) and you will save lots of tread...also no peeling out, doughnuts, etc...and you should get plenty of miles out of your tires. goodluck.

Kind of like the mileage thing, if you can't afford new tires every 10-20k miles (what's that, like $300-350 mounted) maybe you shouldn't have gotten the car or just pretend you're driving Miss Daisy.
I just chaulk it up to the price I pay for having more fun with my car.

I'm at 10k and theyre still have lots of thread left. . I hope to get to 17k-ish
