First oil change coming up soon(questions)

Do I have to make an appointment with Nissan to get the oil changed? Also, how long do they take? The place I used to take my car had the job done in less than 25 minutes, and I was able to go as early as 7am(express lube or some Texaco/Shell oil place). I was wondering if it's ok to take the G there as well.

I made an appt and it took them about 25 minutes. You don't have to have one, but who knows how long you'll have to wait w/o one.

i would rather take it to Infiniti then Nissan

Took about an hour last time they changed my oil. I always call and get an appointment.

why with nissan and not with infiniti? where do you live. if you live LA Area look for the Santa Monica Infiniti website they have a coupon for an oil change for $20 with a car wash. and their waiting room is very nice

If you are like me, then you won't want the car wash. They always scratch my paint. I am just going to get a bunch of oil filters from teh dealership then take it to the local oil change spot. I always watch them to see what tehy are doing. sometimes i take my own oil

Does Infiniti use some special type of oil filter?

And the nearest infiniti is like 1.30 away, while the Nissan Dealership is no more than 15 minutes.

It's no problem getting it done anywhere you trust, just keep recieptsfor proof of oil changes. If the Nissan Dealer is close by get it done there.

+1 on the wash...or lack there of. I typically take my car to the dealer for the oil, but they never touch my car on the wash. They think its a benefit, yet they only bring swirls and water marks.

funny you should ask this, i had my oil changed on my nissanG35S today, at the nissan deal. full synthetic, filter from the 350z. 70% the cost of infiniti, and only 5 mins from the house. pretty much get everything done there on my g35s and my fx35...

I also made an appointment and it took 25 minutes (including prepping new key fobs and checking all the fluids). Cost was $28.
