Installing Wood Trim on Sport Model

Does anyone know if its possible to replace the aluminum trim with a wood trim similar to the one available on Journey's? If its possible, how difficult is it?

Thanks,

Rick

You know, before I drove a Sport demo prior to getting my '07, I thought the wood looked nice, but once I got into this car, man, the Washi aluminum really looks fantastic, especially with the graphite. I'm not sure, but it might be a little chore swaping it out, and IMO an overlay wouldn't look very good on this version on the G. Give the Washi time to grow on you, it fits very well with the Sport! Just my $.02.

thanks for the replies. I personally am fine with the Washi finish, but my wife wants the wood and the G is for her. I definitely want the sport package so am looking for a wayto add the wood. even better would be the Washi growing on her.

don't do the after market wood trim overlay, it's very difficult on this interior to get it right. I have yet to see a nice kit, even from the dealer. At least don't do it until you see an application in person.

Better yet, have her look at the brushed aluminum on an '05, while it's nice, the Washi blows it away, it's very classy looking. Keep in mind, I was always a wood trim fan, especially the African Rosewood, but it didn't take me long to really appreciate the Washi.

I'm happy with the kit I got from Kenny (https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v36-2007-08/174775-infiniti-massapequa-s-first-cf-dash-kit-installed.html) so far... but I'm waiting for a real molded CF kit to replace mine.

As far as replacing washi with wood, I wouldn't do it, but it's definitely doable and it's easy. The parts are really not that hard to remove, and a quick glance at the service manual will show you all the clips and screws to remove.

The hardest part to replace would be trim by the glove box... I had to remove that once and it was a pain in the ***.

what were they thinking when they put out african rosewood...it doesn't look bad but it definitely does not look good. they should've had black piano wood grain or very light poplar...something better
