Nah. It looks tacky off to the side. Even my girl said it would look tacky with only one off to the side.

Geez, give me a break, talk about having to seek out something to complain about, I didn't even notice those until reading this thread, I thought those tiny holes were part of the bluetooth, and I've had my car for over 2 months! To me, that's yet another statement of how great this car is, somebody has to nitpick to find fault! I too thought he was talking about the map lights at first

I don't want to sound like a jerk but seriously it as ABQ says it is a minor really really minor thing.

Premium Package

Automatic anti-glare rearview mirror with HomeLink® Universal Transceiver and compass. (compass not included when combined with Navigation Package)

Although that must be new for '08, because mine has the compass in the mirror.

thats probably a base model? or something... because even if you have navigation, you still have homelink and that mirror has no homelink.. dont know if the base comes with homelink+compass or not.

that's off the base model. i ordered a stripped g35s 6mt, and it doesn't have all that homelink compass nonsense. just the mirror. saves a few grams - translation: saves a few ten thousandths off my 0-60 times!

Homelink is part of the Premium package.....so it looks like the pic I posted was a G that didn't come equipped with the PP. This is also a Korean model, which may be a little different as well.

Yea, but that "nonsense" mirror has the great anti-glare feature for the times there are those idiots with high beams behind you.

I've had some loaners that have had that mirror as they were a completely base car having no options. I didnt even know that infiniti would make such a nice car and then not put options such as auto dimming mirror/homelink, heated seats, automatic windows, telescoping steering wheel, sunroof, bluetooth, ect... why spend 30k and short yourself all those options for another 2k?

auto dimming mirror/homelink = wasted $$$ and wasted weight

heated seats = wasted $$$ and wasted weight

automatic windows = well, unfortunately you can't get crank windows on an infiniti

telescoping steering wheel = if it's not manually moved, it's wasted $$$ and wasted weight

sunroof = wasted $$$ and wasted weight (especially up high), plus you probably can't wear a racing helmet for autocross with the lost headroom with the roof, depending on how tall you are

bluetooth = wasted $$$ and wasted weight

Plus all that crap breaks eventually. Take that wasted $$$ and wasted weight, put it toward some go-fast bits, maybe a twin turbo and a stealth harness and roll-cage. Oh yeah...

Or go get yourself a lincoln towncar and enjoy all that luxury...

The debate about the lighting is silly...

The point made here with all the accessories is the core reason I bought the car. If I preferred ONLY an engine and no 'frills', I would have taken a base equipped 335i 6sp. For about the same cost, and a sub $1k reflash... I would have had a near 400hp no frills daily driver.

FYI... I'm 6'0", and a helmet fits just fine for road events.
