No hanging out black thing on the 07 G .....

OP: Its all there in your owner's manual ...... (look for the trip/reset button - hold it down)

On my 07 6MT the trip set button is to the left of the steering wheel and slightly down. The button is marked "A/B." There are two meters, and "A" and a "B" for different mileage inputs: for say, a gas tank full and a single long trip.

Push button on the left for "A" and to the right for "B." When you get to either A or B, push down for more than 1 second to reset

obviously you dont have an 07 G Sedan...

but a quick 5 sec look around you will find it hiding to the left of the steering column.

Funny, I couldn't find it either on my 08 and the manual was not much help, giving two conflicting ways to do it and a confusing diagram that was way out of scale.

As you are sitting in the seat, it is hidden from view at the lower left area behind the steering wheel. Then you'll see it plain as day. It says something obvious like "Trip Reset."DOMO

Look just left and down from the lever on the steering column.

Do you people read your manual? It is in there for sure. There is also a DVD that they should have emailed you couple of weeks after you got the car. It goes over every single option in the car.

Cool

Not to take this thread off track, but is the Trip Odometer/Reset button supposed to illuminate when the headlights are on?

In my G35S, this is the only button that is not lit up - i.e. except for the unlock side of the power lock switch).

Thanks.

Weird - now that you mention it, mine doesn't light up either.

Its kinda OK though, because this button is out of my eye sight in my normal driving position - maybe that's why its not lit up ?? - dunno
