Navi screen issue

Regardless of whether or not my headlamps are on, the map on the navi screen will always show that its dark outside (i.e. the map shows the starry sky instead of the daylight sky). Anyone have this problem before? Was there some sorta setting that I accidentally turned on?

TIA.

Hit the brightness button to the far right. You should see the work AUTO pop up on bottom of screen.

Just walked out to the parking garage to try it out. Its already set on Auto, I even toggled the option from night and back to auto, still nothing. And yeah I turned off the headlamps in the parking garage so it should've showed up as daytime.

Quite the odd issue. Of all the first issues you could possibly have, I'll take this one as I don't care too much about it. I'll try taking it to the dealer, hopefully they won't have to do something extreme like replace the whole unit because I don't want to lose anything thats on my harddrive or anything.

On mine, if I turn it on in a parking garage, the display stays in night mode, regardless of whether I have the headlights switched to off. I think there's a light sensor. Did you check to see if the display showed in day-time mode when you drove out into bright daylight? That's the time to toggle the little moon switch on the right side of the Nav Screen control panel.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm...OK, how about trying this, change your background color. Maybe you have it set to dark.

Settings --> Display --> Background Color --> toggle between bright and dark

Ok, I'm having the same problem.

Toggling the backround color fixed everything?

I used to like how the map would show up in the day colors if it was daylight outside and automatically switch to night once it turned dark...

Yup, now its back to the way it was. When the headlamps are off it shows as day, when they're on it shows as night.
