Should I go stick or auto based on the above?
Thanks in advance.

I've never driven anything but manuals myself. Been looking for a car (mainly G35 and 335) and naturally only looked at manuals. I had a big problem with the 6MT that I am surprised nobody has brought up. The centre armrest in the manual is useless. It is too low to rest your arm on it while driving. At least it is for me. I'm only 5'5" but I keep the seat rather low. Maybe if the seat is moved way back it works, but for me it doesn't. It was really uncomfortable for me in the test drive. I also drove the 5AT and the armrest (which is much higher) works fine. No problem at all with the 335 6 speed manual. So, my choices now are G35 Auto or 335 manual.
On the positive side, I did find that the auto was pretty good. Don't have much to compare it with since I have barely ever even driven an auto (and I'm not young either). The shifts were pretty crisp and I liked the rev-matching downshift. So, even though the manual won't work for me, the G35 is still in the running.
Is it just me? Nobody else have a problem with this?

Personally I would get the 5AT. Overall AT is acutally faster than stick in 0-60 and quarter mile, according to road and track. 6MT is too rough like the Z. But it's all just opinion, I drove stick for 18 years so I got tired of it driving in Los Angeles traffic, having a stick in Los Angeles 10+ years ago was fun but now all the roads are hogged up....
The warranty covers the whole auto tranny but but manual it does not cover clutch replacement.
