I too am interested in remote start and so far I have heard of compustar being used with a module from some other company to make it all work, but the idea of carrying 2 remotes is not appealing. I do not need remote start for my home but when I go out in the winter etc or summer am parked near where i am at it could prove useful.
I am using the original fey fab. Like I said, you lose around 500ft when you use the original, but I didn't want a second remote either. A company named "Black Cat Security" installed mine. I think they do most of the Infiniti dealers in the Chicago area. It is a "Smart Start" remote starter.

I talked to someone at Black Cat Security, and he explained to me how it works, and it has been tested and all that.

the kit they have to make this work with the original key fob costs $500, then you can get it installed by a pro.

Loudog2 how much did you pay?

I wanted it thrown in with my car purchase. They said that they would split infiniti's cost. Which was $400, so I paid $200. I don't know what the msrp was. Did they tell you to push the start button twice when you get in, without touching the brake? That threw me off for a couple days. If you touch the brake before you push the start button twice, the car shuts off.
