why am i the only one who is pissed about the 07 to 08 sedan ipod hook up????

I cant get over the fact that no one is talking about a way to make the sow for 07 work the same as the 08 sow for the ipod. I have done the homework and the bose head unit is the same. Why then no plug and play? I have called all local Infiniti dealers they dont have a clue. My new 400+hp M3 will not be in for 4 months till then i would pay whatever to have the ipod hook up. My buddy is taking my g35s ip loaded off my hands when the bmw gets here. But only on one condition, the ipod set up is in the car at the point of sale. If not he will just get an 08 and pay extra. I dont blame him i would do the same. Help

....ed? Eh...I'd like to have the iPod hookup in my car, and have also been working on a way to do it. But so far not looking good...and I have zero regrets in buying my '07 in November of '06, and enjoying the car for 15k miles since then. If the '08 guys get to enjoy the iPod hookup, great.

I think youre more along the lines pissed that you wont be able to get your friend to take the car off your hands, therefore, that 400HP+ M3 wont be in your hands either unless your car has been sold. Please correct me if im wrong

im pissed off about it...there have been threads before where some of us 07 owners have stated that we are jealous and envious of the 08 ipod integration.....ohh well thats life i guess. If there is a cheap up grade for the 07 head unit then ill be happy but if not i wont lose any sleep over it. Im pretty happy that i have a/v jacks to hook the ipod up to and not have to listen thru the tape deck like all my previous cars

You could swap in a 08 head unit, I suppose. I doubt there will be a firmware upgrade to the 07 units.

Honestly I haven't thought once about it - and I have an 80gb Ipod full of music with a two hour commute each day to boot. Between the XM radio channels I listen to (15 or so programmed favorites), the radio itself, the 50 or so cds and mix cds I burned to the hard drive, the CD player and the completely useless CD changer (still wrapped in plastic, never used in 16 months) - I really dont *need* the Ipod integration. On days I know I want to listen to something on there, a podcast or whatever, I hook it through the Aux switch. Sure it would be nice to have and if it was a reasonably cheap upgrade I would probably have it done.

But I mean its not like they gave us a car with absolutely not audio options.

Anyway, I'm almost ready to tick over the 20k mile mark and zero regrets. I mean lets be honest, if you were always playing the "Well if I wait until next year I'll get XXX technology..." you would NEVER buy a car.

Wasn't there a post a while back about just buying a Nissan(not infiniti) part # for the electronics? You can DIY or buy the 08 armrest part of it.

Same here - Between all the choices from CF card to XM, there's so much to listen to I just don't have the need to hook up my I-pod. I admit it is cool to have, but I don't have the need for it.

It sucks...but we in the 07s also have much better voice commands...so with all the other options for music in our cars I'm actually okay with it...

Can the G play AAC and MP4 (iTunes) style tracks off the CF card? If so, problem solved.

I think the best option, though, is to get a remote for your iPod and hope it works from outside the armrest. I'm planning on researching this option soon. Haven't listened to the iPod much in my car since I a) left my AV cables at a friend's house in Virginia, and b) have been crankin' XM 66 Raw all day

Out of curiousity, have you looked over this thread?
https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...131884&page=15

I haven't tested IPOD through an '08, so I don't know what they offer differently, but from what i've read this mod lets you control the IPOD through your steering wheel and/or center console.

They list the Infiniti/Nissan parts you'll need and how everything hooks up.

Hope this helps.
