Just got this unit installed here in Vegas. Mark at Ultimate Electronics (the one on Rainbow) was able to install it under the back seat and he ran the cable into the center console without needing the longer cable. He said it only took him about 45 min to do the total install. Works great and sounds excellent over the Diamond Audio system I already have. I changed out everything but the head unit and I have a Rockford Fosgate 360.2 as the interface/ sound processor. Allowed me to keep the system looking completely stock with audiophile level sound (at 1000 watts continuous...)

I haven't seen these question asked yet:

1) Will this work with the iPod mini?
2) When you switch from the SAT input back to AM/FM or CD or Power Off is the iPod paused or does it continue playing?

my thoughts would be if the thing has the iPod connector, then it should connect...

The iPod is in a connection mode (all you see is a check mark up front) so I don't think it would be "still playing" after you left the "iPod Mode" just like a CD.

My buddy has a Scion with the iPod connection, so I've seen this connectivity in action and everything I've heard so far from people that actually have it, it seems identical.

It's not necessarily bad to constantly charge a Lithium Ion batt. unlike Ni-MH or Ni-Cad. They are like car batts, if left dead too long cells get damaged. If the charge is trickle then that's ok.

Just got my kit. Went to the garage and pulled the spare tire, and there is no SAT wiring in the trunk of my '04 sedan. Guess I need to take everything and have it installed behind the dash...I dont want to install in the dash myself, Id be too afraid of wrecking/scratching something.

well..as you know with the ipod. it can only charge around ~400 times or so which is why i try to avoid charging it until i have to. does anyone know if you can disable the charging feature?

I just did this install - pretty easy (I never really do any work myself on my cars). I am leaving the ipod in the back for now - since I can't use the ipod's GUI, no point in routing the cable up front.

The only complaint I have it navigating w/ the head unit - I think I'm just getting too impatient and not waiting for the key presses to register. Going to play with it more later.
