I'm still trying to source the 10pin DIN connectors for myself as well. If i could get a male plug-style and a female flush mount, the chance for a totally clean install goes way up

No, this is a "nissan custom" cable that would have to be built.

And will someone do me a favor and take a pic of the whole kit. I'm too visual to understand this whole thing (or maybe i'm just over worked and losing my mind).

Joe - any word on the extended BUS cable yet? Please also clarify, will it take the place of one of the three parts I need to order if I currently have XM SAT installed (999U7-VR002, 999U7-VS000 and 999U7-VS001)? In other words, if you don't yet have the longer BUS cable, is there any reason to wait to order, other than having to have the iPod in the trunk attached to the shorter BUS? Do you currently have the referenced parts in stock? Thanks.

He has the pdf of the install linked. It's a good writeup. Only thing is that in my 05, the amp rack looks a little different. Could be because bluetooth wasn't available in pre 06's.

What i don't understand is why everyone is worried about the extra long cable to go into the cabin. I find it pointless since you can't view song info or control the ipod once it's connected anyway. I just leave the ipod in the trunk and i'm perfectly fine with that.

I dunno about everyone else, but i can't see the tracks on the screen. It just says XM-Chnnl 01 or something similar. I can go through the iPod menus and view the songs, but it's kind of weird. Somehow i got stuck in the menu and couldn't get out.

Call me lazy, but I don't wanna have to go into my trunk all the time to get my iPod out when I go anywhere. I use mine ALL the time.

Unless I'm mistaken, if you are using XM or Sirius in addition to your iPod, when the iPod is plugged in, you can't use your satellite, thus, a pain in the a$$ if the iPod's in the trunk rather than in your console. If this wasn't the case, I'd be OK with the iPod in the trunk.

install was a snap..10min. plug and play.
i need help with the controls tho. i just bought the ipod nano so i'm not familiar with it. i used itunes to set up playlists like 80's, hip hop, etc.
1) from my steering wheel control, it seems like i can't skip to the next song, i have to do it with the console buttons. i've tried holding the steering wheel button for 3 secs(the skip button) but all it does is makes the display change.
2) how do you switch to another playlist like from 80's to hiphop?

i need help! can someone write up instructions on how to use it? maybe i have done the playlist thingy wrong on my ipod. i'm so confused. =\

This sounds like a cool project. I have a stock navi unit [03G35coupue 6MT]that I would really love to use to also play my ipod videos... If anyone knows how I can do that, I would greatly appreciate it!
It would be sick to have video playing on my Nav screen through my ipod!
