i need help with the controls tho. i just bought the ipod nano so i'm not familiar with it. i used itunes to set up playlists like 80's, hip hop, etc.
1) from my steering wheel control, it seems like i can't skip to the next song, i have to do it with the console buttons. i've tried holding the steering wheel button for 3 secs(the skip button) but all it does is makes the display change.
2) how do you switch to another playlist like from 80's to hiphop?

i need help! can someone write up instructions on how to use it? maybe i have done the playlist thingy wrong on my ipod. i'm so confused. =\

This would be a separate deal. The units to hook video into your NAV would be a completely separate unit to the one described in this thread. You would also not be able to control the iPod via center console or steering wheel controls like this unit.

I would really like to get one of these units but if it doesn't display the songs I'm better off getting something like USA Spec which is cheaper.....

It seems to be a crab shoot between the unit and the version of the iPod and/or software. I read on a different site that nothing would work after updating to iTunes 7!!!!!!!

i just bought my ipod nano and downloaded itunes 7. i'm having a couple problems and i'm not sure if it's the ipod module, the ipod itself, the new itunes 7 as mentioned by the post above, or the wiring. first, it won't charge my ipod. second, if i leave the car off and the ipod shutsdown....when i start the car again, the ipod won't startup unless i go open my trunk and push on the dial to make the ipod turn on from the auto shutoff time limit that it has. joe told me to try unplugging and reconnecting all the cables ..i'll do that tonite. has anyone had problems like mine?

K just finished the instal, actaully got mine into the cabn with no drilling not removing the back seat and using a little thing i like to call common sense...lol, not saing this is the most professional install but for me it gets the job done. what i need is 1 ipod adapter kit 999u7-vr002 and (2) not one vs000 cables. also this install only works if u do not have sat radio but are prewired for it. Remove spare and casing over the bose amp then Simply plug vs cable into the sat radio connection, groung the first cable against the metal casing, then u plug the second vs000 cable in to the first which will not give u enought lenth to run it into the cabin, at this point u have options of how u want to mount the ipod adapter in side the car, what i did was drop the back seat and unscreww the the two fabric buttons holding the fabrick in place, there is an opening between the cars frame and the back of hte bottom of the back seats that make an ideal out of the way space for the ipod adapter, i coiled the access cable in this spot, used the adhesive to stick the adapter to the trunk side of the car then i pushed the seat into the upright position (whithout securing it) and snaked the ipod cable thru the middle of the seat where the top and the bottom meet. Secure it to the box then snap the seat back into its upright position.run the cable on the side of the seat cusion then under the infinit carpet insert, up th back of the center consol then snake it through the small opening thats there when u open the arm rest. Took me 2 housrs becasue i went back to the dealer to get a second cable after i figured out that would probably work, here are some picks.

yah as long as u have it in shuffle mode before u actually put the connection cable in then it will stay in that mode until u change it to a different one i.e. serching for a particular song or playlist
