MPG / Gas after break in period

Hey guys,

I was wondering how much better does the MPG get after the break-in period?

Right now just driving in the city i'm getting like in the 13-15 mpg range. Not driving crazy either, mostly go to 3,000 rpm before the auto kicks in and switch gear. Is this normal? What should I expect after break in? Thanks.

(2008 G35x) - Just got to 100 miles today...

On my last highway trip I was getting 395 miles/tank. Cruise control at 80 mph.....19-20 mpg

City driving with a little fun.....15-16 mpg

I just past 6K miles and my average is hovering at 19-20. When the G was brand new the same driving resulted in 16-17 mpg.

I put about 850 miles on my new G35S 6MT on the first weekend. A lot of it was for the drive from Houston to New Orleans and back to Houston. I averaged about 21-22 miles per gallon.

At 9k km now with typically 17-18 mpg on pure city. 50% of the city trips I always have some sort of jam to go through, especially up a bridge. Very satisfied with my results.
I usually calculate mpg based on trip counter and how much I added up at the gas station. The speedo counter is usually reports a higher value but not by much.

With a blend of 70/30 highway (no traffic), I was getting 17-18ish. Now I have 11k miles and I'm getting 20-21 with the same mix. Only difference is I installed the Stillen intake (6k miles) but I don't think that had anything to do with it.. Or maybe it did.. On a recent trip to Vegas, cruise set at 80 and I got 25 mpg.

3K miles on '08 G35, averaging just over 23mpg with 75-80% highway. This is pretty good, I thought it would be a lot worse. The other day driving to work I got 28.4 over 41-mile morning commute. I couldn't believe it.

I get 20.2 avg.... or 19.4 depending on which portion of the week... M-Thursday gets me 20.2 and the rest of the week 19.4.... its really accurate with my driving i could set my clock to it.

On the weekend i get less since i idle MUCH more.

at less than 400 miles.. and the second tank of gas...I'm getting high 16mpg...this is waaay worse than my 2005 530i as I average 21 mpg...the 530 definitely isn't as powerful..but it's smoother everywhere.

In the mid 2K got 24 mpg today. Resetted MPG and Trip at gas station on a fill up. Drove 49.7 with cruise control (99% highway with no traffic). Set CC to 75mph, but was going around 70mph due to cars in the front. Going for first oil change in a few days.

My break in was about 17-18 MPG. Now I am averaging 20-21 MPG on a 50/50 mix.

Nope... I haven't rev'd higher than 4,000rpm and my shifts are at 3,000rpm most of the time.
